WELCOME TO BB. PILIPINAS! The audience were treated to an impressive opening number by the candidates and their backup dancers led by Whiplash Dancers. Choreography by Andy Alvez.

THE WHAMMY AND THE PROUD. Whammy Push Your Luck's Paolo Bediones and Proudly Filipina's Charlene Gonzalez-Muhlach both look dashing and elegant in their suit and dress.

AWARDING TIME. Paolo Bediones stands in front of the candidates who are in their swimsuits to announce the winners of the first batch of special awards.

MISS TALENT. Candidate number 24, Rizza Liz Catigan, a 21-year-old registered nurse from Bacolod Negros Occidental was awarded Miss Talent. She impressed the judges when she sang during their talent competition held at Ali Mall, Cubao, Quezon City on February 29.

A FRIEND TO ALL. Candidate number 6, Evangeline May Castillo was given the Miss Friendship award, as voted by the candidates themselves. Giving her the sash and bouquet are Mr. World Philippines 2007 Emmanuel Mago and Bb. Pilipinas World 2005 Carlene Aguilar.

FIRST TWO. Candidate number 8, Danielle Kirsten Muriel Castaño collects the first two of her five awards during the swimsuit presentation of the coronation night. She won the Ms. Bacchus Energy Drink and Miss Photogenic awards.

FIVE OF TEN. PACHOT GETS NATASHA. Pachot, as candidate number 2 Patricia Fernandez is fondly called by her friends, gets the Ms. Natasha special award. She gets P50,000 cash and P50,000 worth of products from Natasha. With her are the Natasha representatives.

MANILA BULLETIN READERS' CHOICE. Manila Bulletin's readers picked their own winner and they chose candidate number 20, 21-year-old Roxanne Tadique. Roxanne receives her award from Mr. World Philippines 2007 Emmanuel Mago and a representative from Manila Bulletin.

SASHAYING WITH SASHES. Danielle collects the sashes and awards for Miss Natasha Poise and Grace, Miss Philippine Airlines, and Miss Ever Bilena.

YOUR TOP TEN. Looking lovely and sexy in their swimsuits provided by Cumbia, the ten finalists (from left) Jaysel Arrozal, Kathleen Phyllis Guerrero, Danielle Kirsten Muriel Castaño, Karen Golar, Toni Alyessa Hipolito, Patricia Fernandez, Janina San Miguel, Jennifer Barrientos, Elizabeth Jacqualine Nacuspag, and Tabetha Jo Frick charm the judges and the audience.

BETWEEN "TWO TOWERS." Karen Golar (number 14) stands between five-foot-eleven-and-a half Tabetha Jo Frick (number 3) and five-foot-ten-and-a half Janina San Miguel.

JANINA HIGHLIGHTS. Years from now, pageant enthusiasts, semanticists and language experts, showbiz reporters, standup comedians and joke writers will look back at how Janina San Miguel entertained the Araneta Coliseum audience and those watching Bb. Pilipinas '08 at home. As we upload this, her youtube video is nearing 300,000 hits, making her Bb. Pilipinas Q&A one of the most viewed video in youtube. But many agree her swimsuit and long gown presentations should also be considered as highlights of the Bb. Pilipinas pageant night. She won Best in Swimsuit and Best in Long Gown.

GETTING EMOTIONAL. Morena beauty candidate number 18 Elizabeth Jacqualine Nacuspag gets emotional as she answers the question given to her by one of the judges. From a broken family herself, Eli relates to the question and is holding her tears back as she talks about the importance of communication and love within a family.

ENTERTAINER GETS ENTERTAINED. Hosts Charlene Gonzalez-Muhlach gets amused by the supporters of the candidates in the audience. Charlene effectively connects with the audience as she works them up by asking who their bets are and making them cheer for their candidates.

BON-BON SHAKING BEAUTIES. Bb. Pilipinas 2007 titleholders (from left) Maggie Wilson (World) with Marco Alcaraz, Anna Theresa Licaros (Universe) with Alfred Vargas, and Nadia Lee Cien Shami (International) with Paolo Paraiso perform an electrifying Latin dance number.

IN THE PRESENCE OF ANGELOS. All-male singing group Angelos serenade the finalists.

THE SECOND RUNNER UP. Twenty-four-year-old Elizabeth Jacqualine Nacuspag never thought she'd make it to the Top Ten, much less, the pageant night itself. She was confined in St. Luke's for fever and thought of dropping out of the pageant. Good thing she got better, went back to practicing for the pageant night, and won the Bb. Pilipinas 2008 Second Runner Up. Even after getting hospitalized, Eli still looked good in the swimsuit and long gown presentations.

THE FIRST RUNNER UP. A lot of people from the audience were disappointed when Danielle Kirsten Muriel Castaño was announced as First Runner Up. People who have been following the pageant for a long time thought Danielle would make a great Miss Universe or Miss International bet. But to their dismay, she only got the reserve spot.

BB. PILIPINAS INTERNATIONAL. Patricia Fernandez could not contain her emotions when she was called to be the next Bb. Pilipinas International. Minutes before the announcement of winners, Patricia fainted backstage. She was revived instantly and was led by a staff of the pageant night when the candidates were called to come up the stage.

BB. PILIPINAS UNIVERSE. The 22-year-old UST tourism graduate has one of the loveliest faces in the pageant and was one of the early favorites. It wasn't a surprise at all for some of the fans of the pageant that Jennifer Barrientos was included in the ten finalists. She gets more than just a hug and a kiss from outgoing Bb. Pilipinas Universe titleholder Anna Theresa Licaros. Anna Theresa seems to be saying a prayer for Jennifer in the picture.

BB. PILIPINAS WORLD. As suprised as the audience that night, Janina San Miguel bursts in tears when she was called as the new Bb. Pilipinas World. Those who really know the judging system of the Bb. Pilipinas pageant is quick to defend Janina's win, saying the Q&A portion of the pageant is just 10 % of the overall score in choosing the next Miss World bet. And since Janina won both Best in Swimsuit and Best in Long Gown, these wins clearly gets her ahead in scores against the other finalists for the Bb. Pilipinas World crown.

OVERWHELMED. Still overwhelmed with emotions, Janina San Miguel is crying while waving at the press and audience. Danielle, Patricia, Jennifer, and Elizabeth were just as happy, but not as emotional as Janina.
