Kris Aquino—here with husband James Yap and son baby James—was only 35 weeks into her pregnancy when she gave birth by caesarian section to James Aquino Yap. Born three weeks premature, and weighing only 4.3 pounds at the time of birth, the breast-fed baby has gained weight fast—more than two pounds in one month. Kris’s goal is reportedly to get him to gain three pounds a month.
Ninang Lucy Torres-Gomez—here with talent manager Douglas Quijano—arrived late at the church and left early. “Nakakahiya nga kasi, hindi na nga ako nagpunta sa reception, late pa ako nakarating sa church,” Lucy told YES! later that night over a sumptuous meal that she and husband Richard Gomez prepared in their home in Greenhills, San Juan.
The dinner party was the couple’s way of thanking all those who helped and supported Richard during the election campaign.
Lucy, sexy in her Max Studio summer dress, also squeezed in a hosting gig at the SM Megamall right after attending Baby James’s baptismal rite.
Anne Curtis, who became close to Kris when they did the ABS-CBN teledrama Hiram, proxied for Ninang Claudine Barretto. Claudine was already seven months pregnant at the time, and was saving her energy for her own childbirth. A scan has shown that Claudine will be giving birth to a boy, whom she and husband Raymart Santiago plan to name Rodrigo Santino.
Baby James does not have Jr. attached to his name. Here’s how Kris explained the name game on TV: “Ang nasa birth certificate is strictly James Aquino Yap. That’s it. ’Yon na ’yon! Ganoon kasimple! Kasi in-explain ng Mommy ko sa akin na kung sinunod sa pangalan ni James—na James Carlos Agravante Yap, at naging Junior—mada-drop ’yong Aquino. Si James mismo nagsabi na para ma-retain ’yong Aquino, James na lang.”
