Kapuso artists gathered at the Golden Sunset Beach Resort in
Calatagan, Batangas for the second edition of the Kapusolympics. The event, which features different watersports, is part of
GMA-7's 58th year anniversary celebration.
The artists are divided into six teams representing
the six colors in GMA-7's rainbow logo—blue, red, green, yellow, orange, and
violet.
Kapuso artists from the red, yellow, and orange
teams assembled in front of the Water Slide pool of Golden Sunset Beach Resort for
the "Pasa Puzzle" game.
The Violet team sings their cheer before the "Pasa Puzzle"
game begins. Their cheer goes: "Ba ba
ba ba violet / malupit ang violet."
The team is composed of: (on stage, L-R) Jen
Rosendahl, Rhian Ramos, JC de Vera, Antonio Aquitania, Dennis Trillo, (below, L-R) Mike "Pekto" Nacua (team captain), Prince Stefan, Kris Bernal, and
Chariz Solomon.
The Red team competes with the Violet team in the "Pasa Puzzle"
game. Before they start the game, the
team sings: "We're not blue, we're not green, we're not yellow, we're not
orange, we're not violet. We are red!"
The team is composed of: (on stage, L-R) Luis Alandy, Rochelle Pangilinan, Marco
Morales, Keempee de Leon, Rich Asuncion, Mang Enriquez, (below, L-R) Joseph
Bitangcol, Sheena Halili, and Joey Marquez (team captain).
The Blue team is composed mostly of StarStruck
alumni. In this picture, (L-R) Aljur
Abrenica, former beauty queen Margarette Wilson, Arci Muñoz, Jesi Corcuera,
Carlos Concepcion, and Kevin Santos wait for the director's cue to start the
game.
Actor Richard Gomez (in blue cap), the
team leader of the blue team, reads instructions to his teammates composed mostly of newbie Kapuso
stars. Richard advises them to "sustain
lang 'yon high points and hopefully manalo kami."
Hunk actor Paolo Paraiso leads the yellow team
whose members are Ehra Madrigal, John "Belli" Feir, Tess Bomb, Stef Prescot,
Glaiza de Castro, Jenny Miller, and Paolo Ballesteros.
Heart Evangelista and Raymond Gutierrez are two
of the seven hosts of the Kapusolympics.
In an interview, Heart says it's better to be a host than be a player of
the game because, "It's mainit and mas okay 'to, chika-chika lang with
Raymond."
Red team members, (L-R) Bubbles Paraiso, Luis
Alandy, Keempee de Leon, and Mang Enriquez pose and smile for the spectators of the
Kapusolympics: Watermania.
The Red team—Luis Alandy, Rochelle Pangilinan,
Keempee de Leon, Joseph Bitangcol (partly hidden), Rich Asuncion, Mang
Enriquez, and Marco Morales worked together to solve the puzzle in the "Pasa
Puzzle" game. Right behind them are game
hosts Maverick Relova (in sunglasses) and Iza Calzado.
(L-R) Antonio Aquintania, JC de Vera, and Dennis
Trillo of the Violet team hurriedly swam to the other side of the pool
after finding a piece of the puzzle underwater.
Their teams maybe competing against each other, but sisters Ehra Madrigal (yellow team) and Michelle Madrigal (blue team) were still able to bond during taping breaks.
Each member of the red team gets a gift pack
from the game sponsor after hosts (rightmost) Heart Evangelista and Raymond
Gutierrez announce them as the "Ski-papano" game winners.
While waiting for the next game, Richard tries
to capture some moments with his Canon EOS-1D Mark III digital SLR (single lens
reflex) and EF 300mm f/2.8 lens.
SexBomb dancer Rochelle Pangilinan looks refreshed even though she came from a taping and
went straight to Calatagan, Batangas for the second Kapusolympics.
Richard Gomez asks his team to conserve their
energy because it is going to be a long hot day for them. He adds, "As much as possible kung kaya
nilang magpahinga under the shade gawin nila kasi kapag mainit you get
dehydrated."
Team leader Richard Gomez (in white shorts) cheers enthusiastically for their
team's biker Kevin Santos who hurriedly rides their assembled bicycle to the
finish line.
Wendell Ramos is one of the Kapuso stars
who got injured during the competition.
His right shoulder was dislocated during one of the six middle games of
the Kapusolympics.
