Through her courage and intelligence, Mulan brings honor to her family and herself—becoming one of China's greatest heroes in the process.

Mulan ponders about her destiny as Mushu (played by Rem Zamora) watches over her. The dragon is trying to gain back the trust of the ancestors after messing up in the past. 

The culture of ancient China is brought to life by Repertory Philippines in this two-act play. There are colorful production numbers and even though the songs come from the beloved Disney movie, it is interesting to note how the production staff recreate certain catastrophes such as the avalanche that covered the Huns.

Mulan sings "Reflections," and asks out loud: "Who is that girl I see / Staring straight back at me? / When will my reflection show / Who I am inside?"

Mulan loves her father so much that she risks her life by joining the Chinese Imperial Army disguised as a man.

In the middle of the night, she borrows her father's armor and sword before heading out to the camp where the new recruits are trained.

Mushu decides to give Mulan a few pointers about being a man. The girl does her best to imitate Mushu's "manly" walk.

Mulan, who changes her name to Ping, succeeds in fooling Captain Chang about her true identity.

Captain Chang, the son of General Li, is tasked to train the recruits of the Chinese Imperial Army.

Captain Chang sings "I'll Make a Man Out of You" while training the men using a rope.

When their homeland and family are threatened by an invasion of bloodthirsty Huns, Captain Chang and Mulan vow to drive away the attackers.

When her true identity is revealed, the other soldiers despise Mulan for being a woman. She is tempted to go back to her village.

Mulan realizes that even though she is a woman, she can achieve much in the battlefield.

The citizens bow respectfully when the Emperor arrives in the Imperial City.

The Emperor (Onyl Torres, middle) addresses the crowd before he is kidnapped by the Huns in disguise. 

Shan Yu (right) threatens to kill the Emperor if the monarch does not bow down to him.

Upon Mulan's suggestion, the soldiers don feminine clothing to get past the guards.

When Captain Chang is wounded, Mulan bravely faces the leader of the Huns.

Throughout the play, the five ancestors appear but they are do not interfere directly with the fate of Mulan. They insist that duty and destiny are all written in stone but Mulan proves that she can honor tradition in her own way.

Captain Chang finds the courage to pursue the girl worth fighting for—Mulan.
