Dolphy's longtime partner Zsa Zsa Padilla sang "Through the Years" for the Comedy King.

"Lovey taught me how to be strong. Ayaw niyang nakikita akong umiyak," the Divine Diva said, trying to hold back her tears.

"Lovey" is her term of endearment for the man she has loved for 23 years.

Dolphy's son Epy—who most looks like Dolphy among the comedian's 18 children—did the first reading during the Mass. His mother is former actress Pamela Ponti.

Loida Viriña read Prayers of the Faithful. This lady wrote some of Dolphy's hit TV shows, including Home Along Da Riles.

"Mang Dolphy had the Filipino dream. He came from an era that built our nation," Fr. Tito Calauag said in his homily.

Just when everybody thought Nova Villa's speech would make everyone cry buckets of tears, the veteran actress elicited laughter instead with her retelling of funny anecdotes about the Comedy King.

She related an instance when she gave Dolphy a gift. At the time, they were talking quite often about wine, and how good it would be to drink good wine.

"Ingatan mo 'yan, ha. Bigay ni Nova..." Dolphy told his driver.

When Dolphy reached home, he wanted the wrapped bottle opened right away.

It turned out not to be "wine." 

It was "patis."

(L-R) Singer/host Toni Gonzaga, broadcaster Ted Failon, and actress/host Kris Aquino hosted the eulogy.

Unexpectedly, it was Ted who had a story to tell about once working for Dolphy.

Ted said he received 20 thousand pesos for doing a scene with Vandolph.

"Malaki yun during that time!" Ted remarked.

Victor de Guzman calls Dolphy "ninong."

Victor is the son of the late comedian Teroy de Guzman, who appeared with the Comedy King in several films.

Marichu Vera-Perez (or manay Ichu to some people in showbiz) recalled how Dolphy was during his Sampaguita Pictures days.

"Dolphy was a perfect gentleman with impecabble manners," Manay Ichu narrated.

"Mas marami pang nagkakagusto sa kanyang babae kumpara kay Eddie Gutierrez kapag nagsu-show sila sa ibang bansa. Kaya puwede nang makahinga nang maluwag si Annabelle [Rama]," she added.

Sampaguita Pictures was owned by Manay Ichu's parents, Dr. Jose Perez and Azucena Vera.

“I think my dad wanted us to be together. He just wanted everyone to be there—maging magkasama-sama," Eric Quizon (right), who served as the family's spokesperson.

Maricel Soriano (left) became close to Dolphy when she played the latter's daughter in the sitcom John En Marsha, which aired from 1973 until 1990.

During his confinement at the Makati Medical Center, when visitors were strictly monitored because they could cause Dolphy's weak immune system to give, Maricel kept defying the rules. She would keep visiting and sneaking into his room, and end up crying and crying.

ABS-CBN president and COO Ms. Charo Santos-Concio said in her speech that she worked as a P.A. or production assistant in John En Marsha when she was a fresh graduate.

She later appeared opposite the Comedy King in the movie My Juan and Only in 1982.

After Charo's speech, she urged the people inside the theater to stand up and give the Comedy King a standing ovation.

It was after her eulogy that Zsa Zsa could no longer hold back her tears.

“Saksi kayo sa lalim ng pagmamahal na ibinigay ni Dolphy sa akin. At napatunayan niya nga sa loob ng 23 years kung gaano kalalim at katatag ang aming love story."

“Maraming salamat, ABS-CBN, for taking care of his legacy, preserving his body of work for generations of Filipinos to enjoy in perpetuity.

“I know that this service will make Dolphy so happy dahil mula pa sa panahon ni Kapitan Geny Lopez, si Dolphy, sa buhay, kamatayan, at langit ay isang tunay na Kapamilya,” was Zsa Zsa's message to the Kapamilya network.

The former is Dolphy's only child with Alma Moreno, while the latter, with Pamela Ponti.

Randy (left) and Rowell (right) Santiago's father, Pablo Santiago, directed a number of Dolphy's movies.

Most notable of this was Hiwaga ng Ibong Adarna in 1972.

Maning Borlaza (left) directed Dolphy in Darna Kuno, where the Comedy King was paired with Lotis Key.

Veteran character actress Bella Flores (with beret) appeared in several movies of Dolphy.

ABS-CBN stars wore white, Dolphy's favorite color.
