Actress-host and singer Manilyn Reynes downplayed the reported confrontation between her husband Aljon Jimenez and actor John Estrada, which allegedly took place last October 2 inside a comedy bar in Quezon City.

"Hindi po totoong may suguran at hindi totoong may hindi napagkaunawan. In fact nag-usap sila bago lang," clarified Manilyn yesterday, October 20, at Startalk.

It will be recalled that Showbiz Central reported last October 7 that Aljon and John had a misunderstanding that almost led to a near-brawl incident: one of them reportedly challenged the other to a fist fight.

The hostility did not stop there as Aljon and his friends were said to have waited for John outside the bar. John, according to reports, only managed to leave the premise unscathed through the help of good friend and fellow actor Richard Gomez.

MEDIA REPORTS. The root of the supposed rift was unclear, but several stories began circulating.

One version claimed that Aljon gave John a friendly pat, which was misinterpreted by the latter as a hostile gesture, thus prompting an exchange of heated words.

Another version implied that Aljon had long been carrying a grudge against John, who was said to have courted Manilyn several years back despite being fully aware of her involvement with Aljon.

Meanwhile, a radio program speculated that the entire incident took place when John allegedly made a snide remark about Aljon, consequently earning the ire of the former That's Entertainment mainstay.

Both parties refused to talk about the said incident.

THE WIFE'S SIDE OF THE STORY. "Nagulat na lang ako when someone texted na kinukuha yong panig ko, e, wala naman ako do'n. E, hindi naman din ako puwedeng gumawa ng kuwento," said Manilyn to StarTalk host Butch Francisco.

Manilyn, who is celebrating her 25th year in show business on October 27, insisted that all's well between the two men.

"I don't think so. Hindi naman po, kasi kung may ganoon, siguro naman ang laki na hindi ba, sugod sila lahat... 'tsaka okay sila," reassured Manilyn.
