After winning the big prize on the third season of ABS-CBN's reality show Pinoy Big Brother, Melai Cantiveros admits that many opportunities have come her way.

However, she says, fame has not really gotten to her.

"Hindi pa rin naman nag-sink in, pero natanggap ko na artista ako.

"Hindi pa rin nag-sink in na sikat-sikat, kasi ang iniisip ko, trabaho lang,"  Melai said during the media junket prepared for the cast of Kokey@Ako yesterday, September 15, at 9501 restaurant of ABS-CBN.

"Last year," she continued, "ano ba ang buhay ko, simpleng tao. Parang magic!

"Kung iisipin mo, noong normal ako, nandiyan lang ako sa kanto. Ngayon, nandito na, in-interview ng mga TV."

The 22-year-old comedienne admits that she was quite nervous in her first few days in show business.

And until now, she says she's trying to cope with the life of a celebrity. 

"Dati kinakabahan talaga ako, kasi hindi ako artista, di ba? [Iniisip ko], 'Ano ba ang buhay na 'to?'

"Ngayon, parang okay na talaga ang feeling na parang hindi na ako kinakabahan.

"Hindi na ako kinakabahan kapag nagpupunta ako sa ABS-CBN kasi marami na akong friends dito."

Aside from gaining more friends, Melai also gained more projects. 

On television, she was recently launched as Inday Bote on ABS-CBN's weekly program Wansapanataym.

She will also be part of the primetime series Kokey@Ako, which will begin airing on September 20. 

Melai is at the same time busy shooting for the launching movie of Enchong Dee and Erich Gonzalez, I Do, under Star Cinema.
