Tinanong ng maraming press at movie-industry people si Butch Francisco hinggil sa ilang "issue" sa ginanap na Gabi ng Parangal ng Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) noong Lunes, December 26, sa Meralco Theater.

Kabilang ang Manunuri at Startalk co-host sa overall jury ng MMFF 2010.

"Hinahanapan n'yo pa ako ng issue. Wala naman, e!" natatawang sabi ni Butch sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal).

As jury member, sabi niya, "I'm happy [with the results]. Earlier, more or less, I've had an idea kung sino ang magpi-figure, but I'm not sure.

"The tabulations were held this morning [December 26]. I wasn't there, so I wouldn't know."

In particular, naging malaking pagtataka sa maraming sumaksi sa awards ceremonies ang hindi pagkakasali sa listahan ng Best Director nominees si Albert Martinez, debuting feature film director ng pelikulang Rosario. (CLICK HERE to read frelated story.)

Ang pelikulang ito ng Cinemabuhay at Studio 5 ang napiling 2nd Best Picture. Nagwagi rin ito ng Gatpuno Antonio Villegas Cultural Award, Best Supporting Actor for Dolphy, Best Production Design for Joey Luna, among other technical and special awards.

Pitong awards ang kabuuang bilang ng awards ang napanalunan ng Rosario.

PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked Butch kung ano ang masasabi niya sa hindi pagkakasali ni Albert sa top three nominees for Best Director.

Ang mga nabanggit na nominees ay sina Wenn Deramas (Ang Tanging Ina Mo), Mike Tuviera (Super Inday and the Golden Bibe), at Luis Suarez (RPG Metanoia). Si Wenn ang itinanghal na Best Director.

"How do you want me to answer that?" balik-tanong ni Butch.

Ang opinyon ng movie industry observers, base sa naging patakaran ng MMFF 2010 awards committee, posibleng nasa No. 4 ranking si Albert Martinez. 

Ngunit hindi rin nasunod na ang top three lamang ang babanggitin dahil may ibang kategorya na apat na pangalan ng nominado ang binanggit, tulad sa best supporting actor category.

"Could be," sambit ni Butch, tungkol sa posibilidad ng naging ranking ni Albert. 

"I knew why. I was also kinda expecting he [Albert] would still be part of the nominees. But, remember, I'm only one vote here.
