Georgina Wilson clarifies her tweet about Paris Hilton "meeting up" with PNoy

Nag-react sa balitang ito si Georgina at sinabi through a Twitter post, "why is PNOY taking time out of his 'busy' schedule to meet with Paris Hilton tomorrow. So shameful that he doesn't have better things to do."

Muli namang nag-tweet si Georgina at sinabing, "I dnt mean to offend anyone or be negative I jst think that Paris Hilton isnt important enough for a president to meet up with.night guys :)" (CLICK HERE to read related story.)

"I just really felt strongly about the issue so I felt that I had to say something.

"It's not that I'm pro- or anti-Paris, I'm also not pro o anti our president...

"You know, I have an opinion and I respect everybody's opinion—everybody that would say negative and positive things.

"There are a lot agreeing and a lot disagreeing, and I think they took it in a way that I'm insulting Paris or the president, but it really wasn't about that.

"It's about voicing out my opinion and it's just because I'm concerned.

Here's a brilliant comment from made by a reader on another forum relating to this issue. "Its a long-standing custom for leaders of nations to meet with famous pop icons and celebrities. It's called diplomacy, a boost for tourism, and a political effort to connect with the current interests of the people. Like How Obama met with Pacquiao, Georgina's statements are ignorant, uninformed, and the statements of a threatened, spotlight grabbing opportunist. Don't you love how every single time Paris Hilton is now in the local news, Georgina is now ALSO mentioned alongside her ? And don't you adore how Georgina just so happens to always be available in full makeup to defend herself to the press? Georgina has managed to successfully attached herself to Paris Hilton at the hip, for the entire time that Paris has been in the Philippines! Talk about a fly riding on the back of a cow! Paris Hilton shouldn't comment on Wilson's statement, at all, she should ignore it completely, BECAUSE Wilson's ulti

Georgina is politically aware, considering the fact that she's not a full-blooded pinay. Ang kikitid ng utak ng mga tao. She wasn't against Paris or anything. She was voicing out her opinion that a president must allot his time for more important things than meet up with Paris Hilton. Paris' negotiation here is clearly not of Pnoy's business, hence, the irrelevance of a possible meet up with Paris. Sana lawakan natin utak nating lahat. Stupid for people to say that she's insecure about Paris. P.S. I am not a fan of Georgina nor Paris.

I just hope these local actresses, or Filipinos in general, will be prudent enough in expressing opinions in Facebook and Tweeter coz these are widely used around the world. Filipinos are widely known as hospitable and friendly people. We may not reach what China and India had achieved thus far, economically, but at least we might just be able to maintain some good norms we are famous of other than being brides to order or domestic helpers. Freedom of speech is not there to be abused nor to abuse.

Obama is the leader of the free world and has lots more on his plate than Pres. Aquino, but gives time to Pacquiao just because that's part of his job. No big deal to Americans because they're a politically mature people. Unlike Georgina Wilson.

Damon - sorry to tell you that Pacquiao is not important in America. He does not influence society, policy making, economy, the federal, state or local government. A sports event is an everyday fare in the US and right now it's baseball season and Americans are waiting for football season to start. We see athletes on TV and stadiums everyday. Obama was being a polite president and accommodates people who want to see him, including Pacquiao, Justin Beiber, other athletes and artists. Difference between Pinoys and Americans is - Americans don't fuzz about who the president chooses to see.

Yung pagko-comment lalo na among celebs carries with it responsibility to society so kailangan ng discretion at delicadeza. Yan ang edukado sa paningin ng Pilipino.

I don't find anything wrong with Georgina's opinion at all. Siguro, if she tweeted that Paris has crabs, then I can understand why people would be mad at her. But she was just giving her opinion like any other ordinary girl would. Some Pinoys talaga, laging naghahanap ng rason para magalit.

Don't compare Manny meeting Obama with Paris meeting PNoy, 'cause Pacquiao is a very important person in the society, and worth spending your precious time with, Paris on the other hand is a cancer to the society. What a big difference!

tili 2 death, it wasn't Pinas who invited Paris to come here, she came here to invest and meet the Pacquiaos.. so wag ka nang mangarap na may mag iimbita sa Kardashians, dahil kahit imbitahan sila ang tanong.. papatol kaya sila sa invitation? at anung party or event sila iimbitahan?

Nothing wrong with a head of state meeting up with a celebrity. Obama did the same thing with Manny Pacquiao hatalthough in this instance I believe that believe that it was Manny's camp which asked for an audience or courtesy call with Obama and this was in Manny's capacity as a congressman.
