Shamcey Supsup reveals how she learned her trademark "tsunami walk"

"Hindi ko pa alam. Basta ang alam ko, sa ngayon, gusto kong maging magaling na arkitekto at yun ang pagpupursigihan ko," says Shamcey Supsup when asked if she has plans of entering showbiz.

Halos isang linggo na ang nakalilipas, pero hanggang ngayon ay tila "high" pa rin ang mga Pinoy sa pagkakapanalo ng ating kababayan na si Shamcey Supsup bilang 3rd runner-up sa nakaraang Miss Universe 2011 pageant.

Kahapon, September 18, alas-sais ng umaga ay bumalik na ang Pinay beauty queen sa Pilipinas.

Sinalubong ng umaatikabong hiyawan at palakpakan ang pagdating ni Shamcey sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Matapos ang maikling pahinga ay tumungo si Shamcey sa Gateway Suites sa Cubao, Quezon City para sa kanyang press conference.

Narito ang ilang mga katanungan na sinagot ni Shamcey:

Masaya ba siya sa nakuha niyang puwesto na 3rd runner-up sa Miss Universe competition?

"I'm very much happy, I feel I've done my best... I'm happy."

Satisfied naman ba siya being in the Top 16?

"A lot, a lot!" bulalas ni Shamcey.

"Kahit nga hindi Top 16, kahit Top 89 na lang, okay lang.

"Kasi, you should know these girls... Kasi, all of us, we got to know these girls through pictures lang, and through videos.

"But if you get to know them personally, they're all great, they're all beautiful in person.

"There's so many girls... I think everyone was a winner.

"Kaya nga sabi ko, whenever I talk about all my co-candidates, I never point out just a few people.

"We were telling [each other] nga na we don't need a Top 16 at all to be happy.

i like shamcey... over nga lang yata talaga yung tsunami walk... and ang galing ni Sarah G nung ginaya nya yun sa ASAP... hahaha... anyway, i agree with many of the comments here. i think her answer implied, if you don't have the same religion, you are not welcome on my life. however, she only spoke of her experience, that her bf became 'born again christian' from catholic for her. so she thought it was the best answer.

i love her to the max pero sana instead of saying "if that person truly loves me, he should love my God too" sana ang sinabi na lang niya, "if that person truly loves me, he should respect my religious beliefs, in the same manner that I would respect his"... sabay segue ng, "after all, love knows no boundaries" o di ba? winner! pero siyempre mahirap naman talaga makaisip agad ng magandang sagot with all the eyes and ears on you... pressure! so nonetheless, well done, miss philippines! well done! si ms angola, in fairness, stand out talaga sa lima kung physical beauty at aura ang titingnan... basta, iba ang datin niya... very regal...

during the pageant talaga kahit sa top 16 pa lang mapapansin mo na si Ms Angola! She stood out lalo ng pinag tabi tabi yung top 5. Pinaganda si Ms Angola ng hair at yung pakitang legs ng gown nya!

tulad sa job interviews, gina-judge din kasi how one creatively approaches a question outside dun sa specific na tanong. pwede din kasi di deretsahan yung answer but just explain thought process. parang thinking aloud. if she said something as cliche as love conquers all or any other love quote, mas patok sa judges.

Shamcey is an opinionated person and her answer to that controversial Question, "Would you change your religious belief to marry the man you love?" might have sounded argumentative and therefore divisive. It's hard to win everyone's approval on issues that need one to take side. Nevertheless, she gave the best answer, I suppose. She got the highest fan vote for that strong, spontaneous opinion delivered under stress with confidence and sparkling eloquence though unaided by professional interpretation unlike the other finalists in competition.
