Manny Pangilinan (in photo), according to current business buzz, is negotiating with the big bosses of GMA-7 to buy the Kapuso network.

Felipe Gozon, GMA-7 chairman and CEO; Gilberto Duavit, Jr., GMA-7 president and COO; at Joel Marcelo Jimenez, GMA-7 board director.

Ayon sa kanyang post noong Disyembre 25, "Guess what MVP is buying next?? Found out last week through a little birdy but the few people I told didn't believe me. Now its CONFIRMEDDD."

Aniya, "READ my tweet again. I never confirmed what MVP is buying! Kaya sa mga assuming, don't put words in my mouth. Yes and that includes you!"

Don't you wonder why ang mga companies ni MVP are like an well oiled run machine, maayos lagi ,kasi hindi Filipinos ang may ari. They are part of group of companies owned by foreign holdings. Pag Filipino owned companies laging palpak.

I check ninyo, and go figure bakit gaano kayaman kuno si MVP.

Its a normal transaction ganoon din ang pangungutang ng ABS they probably dont wanna sell their shares dahil gusto ng Lopez to have full control sa company so instead of selling nangutang sila which is also normal. Both networks need to expand dahil digi age na and they will need the extra cash. At yung nagsasabing hindi kumikita o lubog na ang either company i'm quite sure that both companies will outlive all of us here na nagpopost sa PEP.

batasau, i think the opposite is true. gma is making money or has the potential to be very profitable kaya interesado si mvp bilhin ang network. and for the owners, the value offered would be very tempting para di pag-isipan. this is all about business and i think politics. wala silang pakialam sa mga artists nila, ang pinag-uusapan na dito ay power, fortune, at influence. it is just unfortunate that they want to eliminate the owners of gma 7 na hindi mapolitika. i think this is about monopoly and the power over the media and communications, and the influence they can have over the people running the country. the sad thing is baka pilitin nila ang gma 7 na mabili sila - nakakatakot ang mga tao na maraming impluwensya - para silang bully.

why do you think ABS cannot let go of Kris Aquino, Korina Sanchez, Noli deCastro, etc, despite their INFAMY and QUESTIONABLE character?... these people have enough political influence to help ABS borrow money despite not being liquid enough to pay their loans... what bank or financial institution will like to make enemies of politicians?... GMA is a viable company despite the absence of political allies... remove political ties from ABS, and you'll see it crumble down before your eyes...

584 rachelrenee December 28, 2011 23:23 PM a business in need of saving will sell so it can be revived. Why do you guys think companies merge? Companies will buy and restructure to make it profitable. I highly doubt that GMA is worth 13 billion DOLLARS same goes to ABS. 500 million is way to much especially when GMA is not that big of a company with little subsidiary companies under it's belt. People can talk about debts and all but banks won't lend you money unless they know you can pay the bank back otherwise you are considered a RISK. Companies chooses to take loans so they can expand, come one people BANKS are smarter, its all business. If ABS was long in debt and couldn't pay its debt back then it should have already been repossessed by the banks. This never ending Network war is so stupid. it's just simple logic the only argument you people have are this whole DEBTS. HELLO people the biggest companies in AMERICA have DEBTS. Even COUNTRIES have debts. So stop using that argument. ----------k

MVP has been very interested on GMA Network ever since. It is not that bad to see MVP owning and controlling another major network just like when he bought Sun Cellular when he has already SMART and TNT.

I doubt that this deal withe MVP will emerge. MVP once attempted to buy GMA7 years back but now that is is the No.1 network in the country, there's no way the 3 famillies will let go of GMA7. But we welcome the possibility of a Mega Merge between TV5 and GMA7 in the future that may trigger the fall of ABS-CBN.
