Nakarating sa isa pang American blogger ang pangongopya diumano sa kanya ni Senate Majority Floor Leader Vicente "Tito" Sotto III para sa talumpati ng huli sa senate floor upang tutulan ang Reproductive Health Bill.

Ayon sa report, kinopya raw ni Senator Sotto ang ilang bahagi ng blog post ng American blogger na si Janice Formichella noong February 2010.

Nag-react naman si Formichella sa balitang ito sa pamamagitan ng kanyang blog post sa online magazine na Ms. noong Setyembre 4.

Ayon sa American blogger, nalaman niya ang tungkol sa pangongopya diumano ni Senator Sotto sa kanyang blog post mula sa "Filipino reporters."

Sabi ni Formichella, “I am not Filipina. I am a white American blogger and small business owner in New York City. So you can imagine my surprise when a two-year-old blog post of mine suddenly made it to the floor of the Philippine Senate last month.

"According to the Filipino reporters who alerted me to this, Sen. Vicente ‘Tito’ Sotto III lifted entire passages from a post I wrote for Feminists For Choice and twisted them into an anti-choice argument against an important reproductive rights bill in the country.”

Bukod sa pangongopya, pinuna rin ni Formichella ang paggamit ng senador sa kanyang blog post upang tutulan ang isinusulong na RH Bill dito sa Pilipinas.

“Given the content of my post and my very pro-contraception position, I could hardly understand how my words could be used to argue against reproductive rights.

"But lo and behold, it turns out that entire segments of my post were used by Sotto, albeit put into an anti-choice context.

"What’s more, he has oddly used the words of several other bloggers, writers and case studies in his speeches.”

NOT THE ONLY BLOGGER. Si Formichella ang ikalawang American blogger na nag-akusa ng plagiarism laban kay ni Senator Sotto.

Nauna nang umalma tungkol dito ang American food and health blogger na si Sarah Pope.

Sa kanyang Facebook fan page, isinulat ni Sarah ito: “A Senator in the Philippines plagiarized one of my blog posts to use in a speech. Can't even believe this!!!”
