Nakausap ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at iba pang piling entertainment press ang TV host na si Pia Guanio sa taping ng isang segment ng Showbiz Central noong Sabado, April 18.
Hindi na nakatanggi ang TV host nang isama siya sa discussion at tanungin kung bakit hanggang ngayon wala pa ring "wedding bells" sa pagitan nila ng boyfriend na si Vic Sotto. Ang panganay kasing anak ni Vic kay Dina Bonnevie na si Danica Sotto ay nagpakasal at ngayo'y may anak na sa asawang si Marc Pingris.
Ano nga ba ang pumipigil kay Pia para magpakasal?
"You can't rush that, e. You can't rush marriage," sagot ni Pia.
Gaano na sila katagal ni Vic?
"I think we're going on four [years]... I think, ha, because we never really set a date. For us, ha, kasi parang napaka-superficial na anniversary date na hindi naman kayo kasal. We're just dating, so we never really set a date.
"And as far as I'm concerned, I think that I will know if I'm ready to take that step further. Right now, it's always on his plan. Parang nakakasa na yun sa utak niya na magpakasal. Pero ako, I should want to also, di ba? I should feel if I'm ready na," pahayag ng TV host.
So, hindi pa talaga siya ready?
"Kasi, most people get married for the desire to have children. Ako naman, as of now, I'm content with my brother's children. He has three beautiful girls and right now, I'm just happy being the beautiful tita to the beautiful girls!" natatawa niyang sabi.
Pero iba pa rin kapag sarili mong anak, di ba?
"Hindi rin, e," sabi ni Pia. "If I'm not able to take care of these kids because I'm too busy with my work... And you know how busy I am, huwag na lang. And if I'll just gonna leave my child to the care of maybe a yaya, or my mom and dad who doesn't want that responsibility anymore since they are advanced na in years!" natatawang sabi ni Pia.
Pinalinaw ng PEP kay Pia ang impression na kaya ayaw niyang magpakasal ay dahil ayaw raw niyang mabuntis at magkaroon ng anak. Itinanggi ito ni Pia. Maaaring hindi ngayon, pero gusto niya rin daw magkaanak in the future.
"Oo, siguro kapag nag-slow down na ako with my professional career," banggit niya.
Kailan kaya mangyayari yun, lalo ngayon na nasa peak pa rin siya ng kanyang career?
"Well, lahat ng tao sa show business ay nagkakaroon ng slowdown whether they like it or now. These are all blessings that you shouldn't turn your back on. It doesn't happen to everyone, di ba?"
