Nagkaroon ng premiere night ang indie film na D' Survivors last Monday, April 26, sa Cinema 1 ng SM Megamall. Right after the premiere ay nakapanayam ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) si Akihiro Sato na isa sa mga artista sa naturang pelikulang idinirehe ni Adolfo Alix Jr.

Unang itinanong ng PEP kay Akihiro kung ano ang naramdaman niya sa panonood niya for the first time ng pelikula nila ng kapwa niya Brazilian-Japanese models na sina Fabio Ide at Daniel Matsunaga.

"Sobrang masaya!" sambit ni Akihiro.

Sa D' Survivors, special guest lamang si Akihiro. Bakit guest role lamang siya rito?

"Because they started early, like months ago, and I just got back here from Brazil [when they started shooting]. So Direk had an idea to propose to me and he said if I want to be a guest only because I started shooting in the middle of the movie already," paliwanag niya.

Okay lang ba na guest lang siya sa pelikula?

"Okay lang kasi sobrang nakakatawa si Fabio, si Daniel, and the other models. So we had fun."

COMEDY OR DRAMA? Habang nanonood siya ng sarili niyang pelikula, ano ang nararamdaman niya? Ninenerbiyos pa rin ba siya sa kalalabasan ng acting niya sa pelikula?

"Of course, siyempre!" bulalas ni Akihiro. "It's only the second time, my second time on the big screen. The first was the indie film with Chin Chin Gutierrez [Handumanan]. Because, you know, we expect to be good, we expect people to like it."

Ang una niyang pelikula ay drama, ang D' Survivors ay comedy. Alin sa dalawang genre ang mas gusto niya?

"Both, kasi I want to challenge myself always to a new experience, to discover and challenge myself, so I think... I already did drama and now comedy, so I think both, I like both," sagot ng hunky model.

May upcoming projects na raw si Akihiro.

"Yes, not movie. It's in GMA, I cannot tell yet, secret! Movie, wala pa," sabi niya.

Bakit indie films ang ginagawa na niya?

"Because I'm trying to get a lot more experience and put [them] into work with a lot of directors, so I've been going with the flow. I'm not rushing myself to the big [mainstream] movies, but if the opportunity comes, why not?"
