Singer-actress Karylle really prepared for her moment at the Bench Denim and Underwear Fashion Show, Uncut: A Bold Look at the Future, held last Friday, July 2, at the Araneta Coliseum. (CLICK HERE to read related article.)

Surrounded by topless men, the 29-year-old celebrity walked down the ramp wearing only a pair of underwear during the Far East segment of the show. 

"Nakakatawa kasi for that short ramp, parang one minute lang siya or something, napakahaba ng preparation," said Karylle in an interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other media during the Preview Best Dressed Ball at the Republiq Resorts World Manila in Pasay City last Saturday, July 3.

The Kapamilya actress is grateful for her friends' full support. 

She related, "I'm so lucky to have friends like Divine Lee and a team of becky [term for kikay] teachers. Tinuruan nila akong mag-ramp, kasi napansin ko masyado akong bouncy. Gusto ko medyo professional ng konti, so talagang trineyn nila ako. They went to our house and talagang nag-ayos sila ng crash course for me, talagang ang sweet na friends. Alam nilang kinakabahan ako kasi, siyempre, underwear. Si Iza [Calzado], before the show, she gave me a pep talk. Sobrang team effort."

During the fashion show, many were curious if Karylle bumped into her former boyfriend Dingdong Dantes, who officially opened the program.

The daughter of Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla said there was never a chance for her and Dingdong to meet backstage.

"Wala naman. Well, hindi ko siya talaga nakita or nakausap. Hindi ko naman siya hahanapin pa or something," said Karylle.

Karylle joined the Bench celebrity endorsers on December 2008 carrying its tagline "Single is Sexy."

LIFE IS EASIER WHEN SINGLE. After her relationship with Dingdong, Karylle remains unattached. She said this is better because she's able to do more work.

"Parang ang dami kong nami-meet, ang dami kong nagagawa," she said. "Like I was saying nga when we did the Bench pictorial for the underwear, sabi ko, 'Kung may boyfriend man ako, I'm sure away na ito.' Wala naman akong ginagawang masama siguro, but there are some things that are easier to do at work kapag single ka."

Karylle also pointed out that it's easier to make decisions when one is single. 

"I think, for me, it's important kasi ever since college, parati akong may boyfriend. So, hindi ako nagkaroon ng chance na mag-isip para sa sarili ko. Kailangan malaman mo 'yon, kung paano ka gumalaw para when you enter a relationship, hindi mawawala ang sarili mo. Kasi, ganun ang nangyayari sa akin. I think this is the lesson that I have to learn."

Is it also because no man has met her standards yet?

"Siguro mas naging picky lang ako ng konti," she replied. "Siguro, palagi ko ngang sinasabi, never in my life na ganito ako katagal walang boyfriend. So, iba 'yong experience and I enjoy it. Madami akong naging kaibigan, madami akong naaasikasong trabaho. Siguro, it's just not yet time before I meet the guy na talagang okay na okay na boyfriend."

Does she want another celebrity for a boyfriend?
