Grand Slam actress Lorna Tolentino will be seen again on the big screen through the Star Cinema film Sa 'Yo Lamang. Directed by Laurice Guillen, this family-oriented movie will also star Bea Alonzo, Coco Martin, Enchong Dee, and Miles Ocampo as LT's children.

Sa 'Yo Lamang is considered as LT's movie comeback since she last starred in the 2007 Metro Manila Film Fest entry Katas ng Saudi with actor-senator Jinggoy Estrada. It also marks her reunion with acclaimed director and friend Laurice Guillen after they worked together in the 1985 film Init sa Magdamag.

"Nag-first day shooting na kami ng Sa 'Yo Lamang," LT told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an interview held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines last Saturday, July 10. "Ang kaeksena ko, si Bea, and then nag pictorial kami kanina para sa mga frames na ipapakita na magkakasama kaming mag-iina."

In the said photo shoot, Bea was photographed wearing a toga with her "family members."

RICKY LEE MASTERPIECE. The award-winning actress plays a mother of four in this movie that emphasizes family and spiritual values.

"I am excited na kasama ko lahat 'yang magagaling na bata na 'yan, pero excited ako talaga dun sa paggawa ng pelikula because I fell in love with the script. Magandang-maganda talaga yung pagkakasulat ni Ricky Lee. After five years na huminto siya sa pagsusulat... Sa pagbabalik niya, alam mong masterpiece, classic, maipagmamalaki ko talaga," she said.

Eight years ago, Lorna worked with then-newbie actress Bea Alonzo for the ABS-CBN teleserye Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay. She said of her co-star, "Si Bea nakatrabaho ko na kasi kaya talagang relaxed na kami saka nakita ko yung growth niya talaga... Maski ngayon makikita mo sa Magkaribal, talagang sa kanya lahat ang heavy scenes, e. So, alam ko talagang magaling. Lalo siyang gumaling simula nung nag-start siya, siyempre yung growth niya din, nag-progress talaga."

JOHNNY DELGADO THE PAINTER. Lorna was one of the guests who attended the opening of the late Johnny Delgado's painting exhibit at the CCP. The actor, who died in November 2009, has done over a hundred paintings but the curator selected only 31 paintings for this exhibit.

Titled Maskarang Totoo: The Works of Juan M. Feleo, the exhibit will be at CCP's Pasilyo Guillermo Tolentino (3rd Floor Hallway) until July 20. The late actor, whose real name is Juan M. Feleo, was a self-taught painter. He studied painting in preparation for his role in the 1982 film Mga Uod at Rosas. Johnny continued to paint even after the film was finished.

Other celebrities present were Christopher de Leon, Tirso Cruz III, Edgar "Bobot" Mortiz, and Amy Austria. The wife of Johnny, Laurice Guillen, was also there with their two children Ana and Ina Feleo.

Lorna said that her fondest memories of Johnny include the times when they worked together for the defunct comedy show Goin' Bananas. Did the actor give her a painting when he was still alive?

"Ginawa niya ko [ng portrait] na parang butterfly outfit. Siguro nare-remember niya sa 'kin because of Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay. Then merong isa parang nasa forest na may sumasayaw." 

When asked to pick her favorite memory of Johnny, she replied,  "With Dada [Johnny], 'andami. Kumbaga, matagal na kaming lahat magkakaibigan na nagsama-sama, e. Even before Goin' Bananas and after that, nagkikita-kita at nagkakasama-sama na kami. So yung mga couples, magkakaibigan talaga and pati nga mga anak namin. Kumbaga, sinubok na ng panahon yung aming [samahan]."

Like Laurice, Lorna has also been widowed. Her husband, action star Rudy Fernandez, died of cancer in 2008. Would she say that they have both moved on from their loss?

"Ano ba ang moving on sa atin, kasi iba-iba naman yun, e. In my point of view, I am already moving on but that does not necessarily mean having another relationship. Iba-iba naman yung pag-move on natin, e, kasi iba-iba rin yun, yung iba-iba tayong personality," she said.
