Ask any girl out there who her celebrity crush is and chances are at least one would answer "Coco Martin."
Even female celebrities cannot deny their admiration for the Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin star.
Take for example Star Power grand winner Angeline Quinto who recently admitted to the press that Coco is her idol. (CLICK HERE to read related article.)
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) recently caught up with the award-winning actor and asked how he feels about his current heartthrob status.
"Siyempre nakakatuwa," Coco humbly replied.
ON ANGELINE. We told Coco about Angeline and her public admission that she idolizes him.
He immediately smiled and said, "Si Angeline, actually, nung isang araw nga, ilang beses ko napapanood sa Cinema One yung interview niya kung paano siya nag-start.
"Sabi ko, nakakatuwa kasi meron kaming mga similarity nung nag-uumpisa kami."
Angeline started out as a contestant in the ABS-CBN singing competition Star Power.
But even before that, she had already joined other singing contests, including Star For A Night aired on IBC-13. The show is, of course, famous for launching the career of its grand winner Sarah Geronimo.
Coco, on the other hand, made an attempt to enter mainstream showbiz by joining Star Circle Batch 9 where he was launched alongside Heart Evangelista and Rafael Rosell, among others.
But Coco found his niche in independent cinema and from there, he was recognized as an impeccable actor.
He slowly found his way into mainstream television until he landed a villain role in the Kim Chiu-Gerald Anderson starrer Tayong Dalawa in 2009, which led to more major TV roles including his current twin characters Alexander and Javier in Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin.
He continued sharing what other similarities he sees between him and Angeline: "Nakikita ko mahiyain kagaya ko, na feeling mo, kahit nandito ka na [sa showbiz], hindi ka pa belong.
"Kasi parang ako, kahit sabihin na mas nauna ko sa kanya, hanggang ngayon pag may nakikita ako na malaking artista, nahihiya pa rin ako.
