The '90s actress, Sharmaine Suarez, has been away from showbiz and the limelight for seven years.

She came back last year for a role in Kristine, a teleserye on ABS-CBN, and another role this year in Precious Hearts Presents: Hiyas, aired on the same network.

Recently, Sharmaine joined the cast of TV5's upcoming Felina: Prinsesa ng mga Pusa.

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) spoke with the actress during a TV5 story conference held last August 31 at Shakey's Tomas Morato in Quezon City.

"It's very flattering na sa dinami-dami [ng artista] napili [ako] makapagtrabaho ulit," Sharmaine said.

"Tsaka siyempre, malaking project ito ng TV5 [and] I'm glad to be part of it.

"I've always worked with Channel 2 [ABS-CBN], so dun ako nasanay.

"Siyempre, nung maisip ng TV5 na kunin ako, it was very flattering, and of course I wanted to experience working with them."

SETTLING DOWN.  The actress revealed that she left showbiz to marry her beau, Dino Alcantara.

"Well, I settled down," she said, giggling.

"Kailangan ko magpahinga nang konti from all the high-energy people. I had to calm down a bit."

The couple, however, have yet to start a family.

"It's a mutual decision; we're both not yet ready to have children," she said.

"Sometimes, I feel like, maybe it's time. But so far, we have not decided na 'Okay we can have one right now.'"

Sharmaine, who's 37, has no regrets.

"It is also good that we decided [not to have a baby] because I'm trying to go back [to showbiz].
