When asked how he sees himself in the next few years, host Robi Domingo says, "Sabi nga ni Luis [Manzano], marami pa akong kakaining limpak na limpak na bigas. Kahit na joke, sineseryoso ko 'yon. I think that would push me to be just like [Luis] or be even better."

Instead of becoming an actor, Pinoy Big Brother teen housemate Robi Domingo, decided to become a TV host.

A few months after the PBB Teen Edition Plus, the first runner-up housemate auditioned in the annual MYX VJ Search in 2008.

He emerged as one of four new video jocks of ABS-CBN's music channel MYX.

Robi explained his decision: "Ewan ko, ha... parang bakit pa ako makikipag-kumpetensya sa iba. Meron naman tayong Gerald Anderson, meron naman tayong Enchong Dee.

"E, parang wala pang nagseseryoso talaga  sa henerasyon na gustong makilala as a host," Robi told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an interview recently.

JUGGLING WORK AND STUDIES. The 22-year-old thought  hosting, rather than acting, would  make it easier for him to focus on his studies.

Robi is a senior at the Ateneo de Manila University.

Combining studies and showbiz, he said, is "sobrang mahirap."

He added, "When you're on the set, you think about your academics, e.

"Like, I was doing I Dare You, I was thinking kung ano kaya ang mangyayari bukas sa school, kung may test ba o wala. Kaya nag-aaral ako during breaks.

"Kung nasa school naman ako, iisipin ko naman, 'Ano kayang spiel ang maganda para sa kantang ganito?'"

Robi, however, is determined to finish his studies.

"Sabi ko talaga sa sarili ko, I would never stop my schooling, not for anything, not for showbiz."

DEVELOPING SKILLS. Working as a VJ on MYX for a few years helped the young Kapamilya celebrity develop not only his hosting skills, but his social skills as well.

"I think MYX helped build up my character, improved my skills as a host and made me a more sociable person."
