Just telling it as it is, Jokonazman. Some people are just in denial to admit that Vilma Santos has long won the rivalry. Vilma Santos, Queenstar For All Seasons.

When Nora Aunor was chosen as a CCP Centennial Awardee in 1999 during former President Erap8217;s aborted term, especially after her back to back wins as international best actress for Flor Contemplacion and Bakit May Kahapon Pa, and her acclaimed performances on the legitimate stage, it seemed that the National Artist award was within Nora8217;s reach. At the prestigious academe-based U.P. Gawad Plaridel Award for Film, the precursor or litmus test of the National Artist Award, Vilma Santos was crowned the winner, and in less than a year was the lone actress winner for another U.P. System award for excellence in Film Acting, the Diwata Award. Talk of major twin bill triumphs for the two-time international best actress, at the height of her successful third term as a well-respected and admired Lipa city mayor and governor!!!

Sinong nanalo at sinong natalo.

When one can't win an argument via objective and factual points, the loser resorts to lowly name-calling, such as "beta" when that age-old issue of betamax never actually happened, and it is pathetic to even bring it up in this age of blu-ray technology or referring to so-called "pustiso" which only shows the banality of such fanatic. On the contrary, one can win the argument in favor of Vilma Santos, Queenstar For All Seasons, based on awards, achievements and accolades. No wonder Vilma Santos has emerged the true winner - richer, prettier, yiunger-looking, more award winning, a much bigger box office draw and a much respected public servant. These, based on facts, and not on blind adulation.

Press spins on stories of faults and bad manners tend to glorify and justify such acts. And then, label these as "nagpapakatotoo lang". Truth is, sariling kapabayaan yun and if Nora has brought herself down and now, based on the rushes of her TV5 teleseries, whose acting has become rusty and contextually obsolete, she only has herself to blame. . . oppositely, Vilma Santos, perennial Queenstar For All Seasons, has emerged as the one richer, prettier, younger-looking, more award-winning both in showbiz and public service, and box-office queen hall of famer - something Nora will never ever be anymore and all these because Vilma really took care of herself. Between the two, Vilma is a better role model, objectively speaking.
