Marvin Agustin is a big music fan and he wants to channel that passion as his personal way of giving back to the entertainment industry.
Although relatively new in the concert production business, the actor-businessman finally got his headstart last year through his production outfit Futuretainment, Inc.
Barely two years since its inception, Futuretainment has already brought in such notable foreign acts, including Bruno Mars, Miley Cyrus, Maroon 5, 30 Seconds to Mars, and the Black Eyed Peas.
In an interview with Marvin, held during the pocket press conference for the cast members of GMA-7's three-part horror-suspense movie The Road, he admitted that it was a dream come true for him to have produced and invited some of the world's best livewire performers to the country.
"I enjoy doing it," he told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal).
Aside from creating truly satisfying concert spectacles for discerning music fans, Marvin said that his production outfit was also able to create more jobs.
Marvin, who also co-owns several restaurants, said, "Sabi ko nga, kung nagagawa ko sa food industry 'yong pagpo-provide ng employment at the same time nag-e-enjoy ako, that's the main reason I'm doing it here, too.
"Dito sa industriya kung saan talaga ako lumaki... Sabi ko nga, hindi ako nag-aral pero ito ang nag-shape sa akin.
"So, might as well parang giving back. Parang pagtanaw ko na ng utang ng loob."
He also mentioned, "So, the more I do concerts, and in the future movies and TV show, may mga natutulungan tayo.
"Nakakapagbigay tayo ng trabaho.
"Sa audience, sila 'yong main purpose namin kung bakit namin ito ginagawa.
"Maraming mga indirect na tulong aside from the employment na ginagawa namin."
ON REGULATED FOREIGN ACTS. Marvin is aware that some of the local music artists demand a regulation on the foreign celebrities who can perform in the country.
And he thinks the local musicians have the right to make such a request.
