This week marked the launch of It's Showtime!—the newest noontime show on the block.

What led to the big change was ABS-CBN's attempt to increase its audience share.

Instead of coming up with an entirely different program, a reformatted version of  Showtime replaced Happy Yipee Yehey! 

THE TWIST. On January 28, most viewers initially thought that the talent search was really going off-air for good.

Its hosts—Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis, Billy Crawford, Karylle, Kim Atienza, Jugs Jugueta,  Teddy Corpuz, including the hurado led by Vice Ganda—were all emotional.

But come February 6, Showtime  returned with a new title, new timeslot, and more segments, like, "The Singing V," "Pitik Bulag," "Arte Mo," and "Rock Clock."

THE PULSE. Thus, on January 30, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked the PEPsters this question: "Ano ang reaksyon mo sa balitang itatapat ang Showtime sa Eat...Bulaga!?

Out of the 661 who voted, 63.69 percent or 420 of them chose "Eat...Bulaga! pa rin!"

About 194 of them, on the other hand, said, "Showtime na ako!"

While the remaining 46 voting PEPsters didn't have any reaction to this news.

NOT A COMPETITION. It has been a week since It's Showtime! was launched.

It did pretty well in the ratings game, but failed to defeat the "dabarkads sa tanghalian."

But the staunch supporters of the Kapamilya network believe that the battle has just begun.

A PEPster named beautyako_922 remarked (published as is), "ciempre medyo madugo, antique na kc ang eat bulaga, pero with talented kapamilya and their new antics sharing their jokes, magtatagal ang showtime!"
