Based on the July 26 to 28 ratings of AGB Nielsen in Urban Luzon areas, Descendants of the Sun has shown a lot of promise.

Here are the highlights of the comparative ratings of GMA-7 and ABS-CBN programs from July 26 to 28, 2016, in Urban Luzon.

ABS-CBN continues to rule primetime.

Its hit action series, FPJ's Ang Probinsyano, remained unshakeable at the number one spot for weekday primetime.

The Coco Martin-starrer also continued to get higher ratings than Encantadia, the much-anticipated remake of GMA's popular fantasy series.

Descendants of the Sun is a popular Korean series that premiered last July 25, Monday, airing after Encantadia.

Its pilot episode did well, getting a 22% rating against Dolce Amore's 20.4%.

But that win may be waning, since Dolce Amore was able to recover on July 28.

It was not also a great week for GMA-7's daytime block.

While Eat Bulaga! still clinched number one, the Kapuso network's afternoon dramas got lower ratings than their rival shows on the Kapamilya network.

Magkaibang Mundo, Sinungaling Mong Puso and Sa Piling ni Nanay were defeated by It's Showtime, Doble Kara and Tubig at Langis, respectively.

GMA-7's afternoon prime used to be the unbeatable leader of afternoon programming, when it carried dramas like The Half Sisters, Wish I May, and Destiny Rose.
