Magkakabaung (The Coffin Maker) lead actor Allen Dizon brought
honor to the country when he was named Best Actor at the 3rd Hanoi
International Film Festival in Vietnam.
The Filipino actor was able to beat Hollywood actor Ralph Fiennes (the star of
the Russian film Two Women) and Korean actor Ko Soo (star of the Korean film Way Back
Home)for the said recognition.
Magkakabaung, which is filmed in Kapampangan, is about a neglectful father
who accidentally kills his eight-year-old daughter.
It is
one of the five entries included in the New Wave category of the 40th Metro
Manila Film Festival. Just like the other entries, this film is being screened
at SM Megamall and Glorietta 4 cinemas until December 24, 2014.
