Piolo Pascual and John Lloyd Cruz are currently in Berlin for the world premiere of their movie, Hele Sa Hiwagang Hapis.
Directed by Lav Diaz, the movie (known internationally as A Lullaby to the Sorrowful Mystery) was chosen for the main competition category of the 66th Berlin Film Festival.
It is the third Filipino film to compete at the Berlinale. The two previous entries were Ishmael Bernal's Himala, a 1982 movie about a faith healer; and Brillante Mendoza's hostage drama Captive (2012).
The screening of Hele in Germany took place last February 18 at the Berlinale Palast.
The Philipine delegation also included Alessandra de Rossi, Angel Aquino, and Cherie Gil as well as the movie's producers Paul Soriano and Bianca Balbuena.
Hele Sa Hiwagang Hapis runs for eight hours plus a one-hour-long lunch break.
