Potted Potter will return onstage starting January 30, 2013

Gary Trainor and Jesse Briton will reprise their roles in Potted Potter, a hilarious parody about the Harry Potter series.

Due to public demand, Potted Potter will be restaged from January 30 to February 3, 2013 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati City.

Theatergoers will be able to watch the comic duo, Jesse Briton and Gary Trainor, as they cap off their worldwide tour with nine shows in Manila.

After sold-out houses during the first season in Manila last August, Potted Potter takes on the ultimate challenge of condensing all seven Harry Potter books (and a real life game of Quidditch) into 70 hilarious minutes. This fantastically funny show features all your favorite characters, a special appearance from a fire-breathing dragon, endless costumes, brilliant songs, ridiculous props and a generous helping of Hogwarts magic.

The production has spread its charm and easily gained popularity from Filipino potterheads and non-Potter fans when it visited Manila for their first stop of the world tour. Almost 22,000 fans are currently subscribed to the Potted Potter Manila Facebook page, which still continues to grow. Producer James Cundall, chief executive of Lunchbox Theatrical Productions, said, “With an utterly great reception of the audiences, we did not have second thoughts on bringing back the show in Manila.”

The 2012-2013 tour includes in Singapore, Hong Kong, Auckland and Wellington in New Zealand, Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, currently in Brisbane then show goes to Adelaide, Australia, then to Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa.

Potted Potter was nominated in the 2012 Olivier Award for the category best entertainment and family show.

Double Olivier Award Best Entertainment nominees Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner first created Potted Potter in 2005 for an appearance at a London bookshop, as a five-minute entertainment for fans awaiting the release of the sixth book in the series. The show grew from there into a full-length stage production, first seen at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2006, and has since toured internationally, including sell-out seasons at the Adelaide Fringe, Melbourne Comedy Festival and New Zealand Comedy Festival in 2009.

Potted Potter in Manila is produced by Lunchbox Theatrical Productions, Potted Productions, Concertus Manila and Hi Definition Radio.
