Giselle Sanchez promises a wholesome play via Salaminkera

Comedienne Giselle Sanchez is known for her risque humor but for next project, she will trade her naughty jokes for family-friendly humor.

"Expect me to be wholesome for the first time," declared Giselle Sanchez in her recent presscon for her one-woman show titled Salaminkera. "I realized that I could actually be funny without being naughty."

She will bring life to “Salaminkera,” a mirror that actually talks to you and tells you about your career, family life, and love life.

Salaminkera is inspired by the magic mirror of the evil queen from the timeless tale of Snow White and provides honest answers to any question.

Coined after the term “salamangkero,” a Filipino word for magician or wizard, Salaminkera is like the best friend next door who you love for not mincing words and always saying the truth.

In an interview with, Giselle says about Salaminkera, "This is a one-woman comedy play written by George De Jesus III. He is a four-time Palanca award winner and winner of the Centennial Literary award for full-length plays.

"STAGES approached me to do this one-woman show and nung narinig ng Sangobion, they said they would buy it and show it to the public."

She mentioned that the grand show will be performed for free at SM Megamall on June 9.

This show is a collaborative effort between Giselle and Sangobion, the organic iron supplement with vitamins and minerals.

"I will be in the mirror, ako ang babae sa loob ng salamin so may LED effects na makikita.

"The reason why Sangobion got interested because they are catering to women. In the play, I will be portraying several roles and a Sangobion woman is someone who plays several roles.

"Hindi siya napapagod kahit career woman siya, gumigimik at bina-balance ang love life."

With insights coming from Giselle’s personal experiences as a woman herself, expect jokes and laughter to also contain bits of wisdom that will tickle both the funny bone and the mind.
