Two Filipino talents have already been chosen to join the 2017 revival of the iconic musical Miss Saigon.

This was revealed by Miss Saigon Filipino partner director Bobby Garcia and Miss Saigon composer Claude Michel Schönberg.

In an interview with TV Patrol, composer Claude said that they have already found two talents who will be part of the musical during the eight-day audition, without revealing their names.

Claude said, “The callback for the audition of Miss Saigon was very very good.

“We found two brand new people and that’s very exciting because there are two parts very difficult to cast. But as usual, in the Philippines, best can be expected.”

On the other hand, director Bobby revealed that there were almost 900 people who auditioned.

“We saw almost 900 people sa open call. It was literally a minute that they got to sing.

“Of course, it’s a stressful situation. Pero ang daming magaling!

“The whole panel saw a lot of good people, a lot of callbacks.”

It can be remembered that in 1988, Filipino broadway singer Lea Salonga was first discovered and played the role of Kim in the said musical.

Filipino actress Monique Wilson also played the iconic role while Isay Alvarez played the role of Gigi.

For its West End Revival in 2014, Rachelle Ann Go bagged the role of Gigi.
