Esang de Torres of The Voice Kids joins Les Miserables cast

The Voice Kids season 2 first runner-up Esang de Torres joins the cast of Les Miserables's Manila run wherein she will play an alternate of the Young Cosette.

The Voice Kids
season two first runner-up Esang de Torres has been added as a cast member in the Manila run of Les Miserables.

Announced yesterday, April 6, Esang will serve as an alternate for the role of young Cosette and will start performing tomorrow, April 8.

Esang was able to catch the attention of producer Cameron Mackintosh during his visit in Manila.

The other little girl who plays Cosette is Filipino-Australian Chloe Delos Santos.

Esang was first discovered in It’s Showtime’s “Mini Me” segment wherein she performed the song “Tomorrow.” Since then, she was dubbed as the “Mini Lea Salonga.”

In The Voice Kids, Lea was the coach of Esang after the former gave her a standing ovation when she sang “Home” during the blind auditions.

However, she ended up as first runner-up to Elha Nympha, who also hails from Team Lea in The Voice Kids.

It can be remembered that Lea was able to play both Fantine and Eponine in the Broadway musical.

Filipina singer Rachelle Ann Go is also part of Les Miz as Fantine, the mother of Cosette.

Les Miserables Manila currently runs until May 1 at the Theatre at Solaire Resort and Casino.
