Filipinos will be able to watch Mamma Mia the musical, supported by the classic songs of ABBA, at the CCP Main Theater starting 24 January 2012.

The story-telling magic of Abba’s timeless songs propels this enchanting tale of love, laughter and friendship. Abba’s original music composers, Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, helped in the development of Mamma Mia from the very beginning using the band’s unforgettable chart-topping hits like "Dancing Queen," "Take A Chance On Me," and "The Winner Takes It All" in the musical.
Mamma Mia tells about a tale that unfolds on a Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter’s quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother’s past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago.
The International Tour of Mamma Mia has been enthralling audiences around the world since its debut in 2004. It has been seen by over 4 million people in countries as diverse as China, Lithuania, Greece, Taiwan, Hungary, New Zealand and more recently Serbia and Austria.
The show opened in Shanghai in July and was a landmark production, beginning a new era of musical theatre in China. The Broadway production of Mamma Mia celebrates its 10th anniversary this October. Mamma Mia has been seen by over 50 million people worldwide.
With music & lyrics by Benny Andersson & Björn Ulvaeus, Mamma Mia is written by Catherine Johnson, directed by Phyllida Lloyd and choreographed by Anthony Van Laast. The production is designed by Mark Thompson, with lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce & Bobby Aitken and musical supervision, additional material & arrangements by Martin Koch.
