Tune in to GMA News and Public Affairs’ UNDAS 2012 special coverage – airing on both GMA7 and GMA News TV Channel 11 – as the country observes All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
Leading this year’s UNDAS 2012 special coverage are Unang Hirit, Flash Report, 24 Oras, and Saksi for GMA-7. For GMA News TV, UNDAS 2012 airs in Kape At Balita, News to Go, Balitanghali, GMANewsTV Live, News TV QRT, and State Of The Nation with Jessica Soho.
Along with the biggest news of the day, UNDAS 2012 provides viewers with live traffic updates, the latest situation in the major cemeteries, monitoring of bus terminals, seaports and airports, and useful safety tips and consumer information for the public.
And with millions of Filipinos expected to visit the graves of their departed loved ones, GMA-7’s long-running morning show Unang Hirit and flagship primetime newscast 24 Oras will both be on the ground to assist the public via the Serbisyong Totoo booths in two of the biggest cemeteries in the metro: the Manila North Cemetery and Manila South Cemetery.
Free services in the Serbisyong Totoo booths include drinking water, candles, candies, security nametags for kids, cellphone charging stations, sanitation kits, medical assistance, use of wheelchairs for the elderly, and even free use of microwave for reheating food. The Serbisyong Totoo booths open from 5am to 10pm on October 31 and November 1 and from 5am-5pm on November 2.
This year, Unang Hirit will also be launching the UH Plastic Bottle Campaign. In exchange for three empty plastic bottles, one will get a special Unang Hirit gift. The plastic bottles which will be collected will be given to the Tzu Chi Foundation for their recycling efforts.
UNDAS 2012 news updates will also be available on radio via the Network’s flagship AM radio station DZBB and online via www.gmanetwork.com
