The popular saying, "Strike while the iron is hot" couldn't be truer than in the case of popular daytime television drama leading man, Richard Yap.
On weekdays, he is seen on television, acting and, in-between, endorsing numerous products (the guy started out as signature model of a popular fastfood chain).
On certain weekends, here and abroad, the Fil-Chinese actor has tried singing before huge crowds. He will soon become a recording artist when he releases his debut album under Star Records, the recording outfit of ABS-CBN.

Richard Yap has been enjoying this unexpected popularity when the ABS-CBN daytime series Be Careful With My Heart, which he topbills with Jodi Sta Maria, turned into a phenomenal hit.
But this popularity is something that Richard, who has now become more identified with his character's monicker as "Sir Chief," didn't ask for.
"I'm happy with the success that I'm enjoying but I know that it is not forever," says the actor who just turned 46 last month.
He owes the successes he reaps in showbiz to hardwork and the support of the public that he is always willing to give them back the kind of entertainment they would all enjoy.
Indeed, Sir Chief isn't your regular singing heartthrob but, in his own charming ways, he promises to win over his giddy audience.
