The Purge: Anarchy brings back lawlessness on the streets

PRESS STATEMENT FROM UIP:

Universal Pictures has released the first poster and images for writer/director James DeMonaco's horror thriller The Purge: Anarchy, the sequel to last year's surprise hit The Purge.

The follow-up continues the plot device from the first film in which all crimes are legal on one day of the year, during the annual “Purge”, which preserves peace and prosperity for the other 364 days of the year. This time, instead of another home invasion, the sequel will be going beyond the confines of a shelter and watching characters struggle to survive the night.

The New Founders of America invite you to celebrate your annual right to Purge in The Purge: Anarchy. Returning alongside writer/director/producer James DeMonaco to produce the sequel to 2013’s sleeper hit are Blumhouse Productions’ Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity and Insidious series), alongside Sébastien K. Lemercier (Assault on Precinct 13) and Platinum Dunes partners Michael Bay (Transformers franchise), Brad Fuller (A Nightmare on Elm Street) and Andrew Form (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th).

The film stars Frank Grillo (upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier), Michael K. Williams (HBO's Boardwalk Empire), and Zach Gilford (Friday Night Lights).

Opening soon across the Philippines, The Purge: Anarchy is distributed by United International Pictures.
