Potted Potter: The Unauthorized Harry Experience returns to Manila this September

Magical things always happen in threes, and for any Potterhead the ultimate proof of this is here: the third Manila season of the hilarious West End and Off-Broadway smash Potted Potter: The Unauthorized Harry Experience – A Parody by Dan and Jeff.

During the 2013 run in Manila, Potted Potter performers Gary Trainor and Jesse Briton (shown in photo above) incorporated Pinoy pop culture by mentioning the Eraserheads and other fun tidbits about the Philippines.

It seems Manila simply can’t get enough of the riotous unauthorized crash course on the Potter series, as evident from this record-breaking third visit in three consecutive years.

For those who have missed the previous two seasons, Potted Potter takes on the ultimate challenge of condensing all seven Harry Potter books (and a real life game of Quidditch) into seventy hilarious minutes, with just two actors performing all the roles. This fantastically funny show features all your favourite characters, endless costumes, brilliant songs, ridiculous props and a special appearance from a fire-breathing dragon!

This time, Manila audiences can expect even louder guffaws from the show’s cheeky commentaries—all delightfully coated with a generous helping of Hogwarts magic.

Playing at the RCBC Plaza, Makati City from September 30 – October 5, the show features the new duo of Benjamin Stratton and James Percy, fresh from sell-out dates and standing ovations on the show’s first ever Irish tour.

As a special treat, Co-Presenter VISA will be giving a 10% discount on tickets to all cardholders from July 15 – August 15. Originally crafted as a 5-minute comedy sketch to entertain Harry Potter fans at a London bookshop as they awaited the release of the sixth installment in the JK Rowling series in 2005, the show is first and foremost a tribute to the bespectacled hero’s fantastic conquests.

Created by double Olivier Award “Best Entertainment” nominees Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner, Potted Potter has undoubtedly cast more than just a rudimentary Hufflepuff charm on audiences, both die-hard fans and those new to the wonderful world of Harry Potter.

Packing RCBC’s Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium to its rafters in 2012 and 2013, Potted Potter returns this year to enthrall Philippine Potter fans and muggles alike, proving the show is still the "blissfully funny crowd-pleaser," as hailed by The London Guardian.

To mark Potted Potter’s return as an event as special as any high-powered Quidditch match--which is also brilliantly incorporated into the show’s repertoire--co-creator Jeff Turner will be in attendance during the 2014 Potted Potter Opening Night Costume Party where special awards await the zaniest Wizarding World outfits.

Potted Potter has played 30 weeks off-Broadway across two sold-out seasons, has had five West End runs, has enjoyed extensive UK and international tours, and has just embarked on a 2014 world tour including Mexico City, Canada, Ireland, Dubai, Singapore and Australia.

During this time the show has accumulated outstanding reviews from leading newspapers and media around the world, including Sydney’s Herald Sun, the Toronto Star and UK papers such as The Daily Telegraph, The Times, Sunday Express, Daily Mail, The Guardian, and The Financial Times. Potted Potter was even awarded London’s Time Out Critic’s Choice and the New York Times’ Critics’ Picks.

Potted Potter 2014 is presented by Potted Productions, Concertus Manila, and Lunchbox Theatrical Productions together with co-presenting partner VISA.
