KC Concepcion gets into minor car accident while shooting Boy Golden: Shoot-To-Kill

KC Concepcion had a three-month training on martial arts to prepare for the MMFF 2013 entry Boy Golden: Shoot-To-Kill.

KC Concepcion did her own stunt for the action-drama movie Boy Golden: Shoot-to-Kill starring Laguna Governor Jeorge “E.R.” Estregan (screen name: ER Ejercito).

In this Metro Manila Film Fest entry, E.R. brings life to Arturo Porcuna, a gangster who achieved notoriety in Tondo during the 1950s and 1960s.

KC plays Marla Dee, a female gangster wanting to exact revenge on her enemies. She becomes the wife of E.R.'s character, Arturo.

The actress admits that she felt awkward being paired with someone much older than she.

How did she handle having E.R. as her leading man in this MMFF 2013 entry?

"I trusted him naman as a leading man at may respeto naman siya sa babae.

"I stuck to my character.

KC considers this project one of the most difficult she has ever accepted.

"May 38-hour fight scene shooting day kami.

How did she prepare for the fight scenes of Boy Golden?

"Nagtraining rin ako ng mixed martial arts and firing. Five hours a day yun for three months, para masanay ako humawak ng baril at masanay na manipa, mambugbog, at hindi rin ako masyadong mapagod sa shooting.

"May training exercises and concept ng mized martial arts."

KC says of her role as Marla Dee: "It's the most physically challenging sa lahat ng roles ko. Before pa kami sumalang sa camera, three months na rin ako nag-training.

"In terms of preparation, ito talaga ang pinaka nag-commit ako. Four months nag-shooting and, at the same time, pinapalipad ako sa ibang bansa for shows kaya nandiyan ang jet lag.

She talks about being part of a predominantly male cast in this action flick.

KC reveals that she and her leading man E.R. got into a minor car accident while shooting Boy Golden.

Did she consider having a stunt double do the scene since it was dangerous?

"Hindi pwede kasi may dialogue ako," she explains. "Pero sabi nga ni Gov [E.R.], 'That's life in an action movie!'"

Would she say that doing this movie was worth her injuries?

"Worth it!" exclaims KC.

What fight scene did she enjoy doing the most?

"Yung girl-to-girl fight," KC recalls. "Parang a total of four days namin na-shoot ang isang mahabang scene."
