Daniel Matsunaga admits: “Mas mahirap maging actor kaysa model.”

Pinoy Big Brother All In winner Daniel Matsunaga will try his hand at a horror movie role via Shake Rattle and Roll XV: Flight 666.

In his debut horror movie role, Daniel Matsunaga suits up as Bryan, a flight attendant on board Flight 666 in Shake Rattle and Roll XV.

This three-part horror flick one of the official entries to the 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

“Masaya siya, welcoming yung mga tao sa eroplano,” says Daniel about being part of this movie produced by Regal Films.

Unfortunately, a hijacker finds his way into the plane, and worse, a tiyanak is also on the loose scaring all the passengers. “Minsan may eksena na nagugulat siya. Natatakot din. He’s trying to save people and at the same time, make them calm down,” adds the Brazilian-Japanese hunk.

Daniel previously starred in a horror and suspense TV series titled Third Eye on TV5. But this is his first time to do a full-length horror movie. “Masaya lahat – yung crew, si Direk [Perci Intalan],” he shares.

The ABS-CBN actor had the chance to work with GMA-7 actress Lovi Poe, who is cast as another flight attendant who happens to be the ex-wife of Matteo Guidicelli’s character.

“Magaling si Lovi," observed Daniel. "Mabait. Nag-enjoy lang sa trabaho. She’s always with food! Ako, I’m trying to be on a diet sometimes, pero di ko kaya so I also get some snacks.”

For the model-turned-actor, life has indeed changed since he emerged as the big winner in Pinoy Big Brother All In.

“Mas mahirap maging actor kaysa model. Pinakamahirap yung mag-Tagalog. Mas challenging ito—you have to know your role, study your co-actors, and yung story ng movie. You have to react. Nag-enjoy ako and it’s very challenging. And much, much more fun ang acting.”

Aside from this movie, Daniel is also cast as the third party in the upcoming Kim Chiu-Xian Lim movie Past Tense.
