Richard Gutierrez accepts another acting challenge in doing Seduction.
During its press conference on Monday night, January 7, Richard Gutierrez said the latest sexy and erotic drama movie of Regal Entertainment gave him the opportunity to veer away from doing romantic-comedy films, which he often did in the previous years.
“Matagal na akong humihingi ng ganitong klaseng project, na lilihis ako ng kaunti sa romantic-comedy and something totally different and that would challenge myself. I think ito na ‘yon,” he told the media.
When he started doing the movie with returning director Peque Gallaga, Richard promised to give his best for this movie. Direk Peque is behind the acclaimed movies Oro, Plata, Mata (1982) and Scorpio Nights (1985).
“With this movie, talagang from the first day pa lang, sabi ko, ‘I’m gonna give my all. Hindi ako maghe-hesitate.’
“I trust Direk Peque. I’m very comfortable with them.
“So, when Direk Peque asked me something, I trust him, I give everything.
“Kumbaga, ito na siguro ang pinaka-daring ko na pelikula. Ito na ‘yong trabaho kong pumunta na sa edge of the cliff, something like that.
“Parang talagang minaximize ko na at ginawa ko na ‘yong best ko at ginawa ko na lahat.
“So, kapag may eksenang kailangan maging daring, alam kong ikagaganda ng [pelikula] and I’m working with great people and I’m comfortable with my co-actors so, game!”
DIFFERENT LOVE TRIANGLE MOVIE. This Peque Gallaga movie puts Richard in a steamy love triangle between with his leading actresses Sarah Lahbati and Solenn Heusaff.
In the uncut trailer of the movie, Richard is shown kissing Sarah passionately on top of a kitchen sink. In a separate scene, he also touches Solenn provocatively as they kiss on the sand of a beach.
However, the actor was quick to clarify that Seduction is different from other local movies that tackle forbidden affairs.
“I think you should be excited about the whole story behind the flesh scenes,” he said.
“Kasi ngayon, siyempre, nauuso ang mga love triangle movies.
“Alam mo ‘yon, parang nauuso ‘yong pattern ng lines na quotable quotes.
“So, we did something totally away from that.
“We did a love triangle away from the uso.
“We did it our own way and I’m very happy na it came out this way.”
Did he and his girlfriend Sarah have a hard time doing their hot scenes together?
Richard replied, “At first, she was hesistant, siyempre, kasi hindi nga siya sanay at hindi siya kumportable.
“Nagkaroon kami ng usapan nina Direk Peque [at Sarah] in a private room before the scene.
“Ayun, nag-usap-usap kami at in-explain sa amin ni Direk Peque ‘yong objective ng eksena and kung ano ‘yong treatment na gagawin niya.
“We became comfortable.”
When asked how different was his love scene with Sarah from his love scenes with Solenn in the movie, the actor answered, “Pareho naman sila but with different intensity.”
He added, “The characters are different. ‘Yong sinasabi ni Direk Peque na may dialogue when you do a love scene, the dialogue is different with Sarah’s character.”
SYNOPSIS. In the movie, Richard plays the struggling fireman Ram. Unfortunately, he gets suspended from work at a time when he is in dire need of money to pay for his father’s kidney transplant.
He then rents a space in a room owned by Trina (Sarah).
One night, Ram makes use of his good looks and appeal to seduce the lonely Trina. They have sex, but to Ram’s surprise, Trina shies away after the act.
This is when rich and influential Sophia (Solenn) enters Ram’s life. He rescues her from a devastating hotel fire.
Sophie hires Ram to be her driver-bodyguard. Later on, she falls madly in love with him.
So, when she learns that Ram is still yearning for Trina’s love, she shows the ill-fated lover her wrath and the unforgiving nature of her obsession for Ram.
