Panimulang kuwento ng playwright-director, "This is an offertory to God. I've been blessed enormously and with all the blessings He has bestowed upon me, I guess, this is just the right time to give it back to Him.
"I directed and wrote the play because this is a celebration about the youth.
"So, gusto natin na maging youthful ang play so I decided to give it to a young stager, Jordan Ladra.
"I always do that. There are lot of plays na sila naman ang bida. it's just that we've met during Bonifacio where I played Andres Bonifacio."
Aniya, "The catchbasin of the company [PSF] is the youth.
"Considering that Pedro Calungsod was executed at the age of 17, I guess, he is the idol of the youth.
"So we want to the inspire the youth by giving them a very youthful presentation of Pedro Calungsod. This is not the usual way of staging this kind of play but we decided make it more youthful in order for us to continue inspiring the youth and for them to emulate Pedro Calungsod.
"I read a lot of books about his life and made a lot of interviews to some members of the CBCP [Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines] but this is not only about Pedro Calungsod...this is a celebration of youthfulness.
"You will see sa play na hindi lamang lahat tungkol kay Pedro Calungsod but moreso about the Filipino youth.
"This is actually our objecive—that we would able to bring the message across the hearts of the young Filipinos.
"So we tried to evade from the usual theatrical presentation and make it more entertaining."
Ano naman ang expectations niya sa audience in terms of their acceptance at reception sa kanilang musical play?
Pahayag ng stage actor-director," Well, we hope they will be entertained.
"I'm sure this will enjoy this at alam kong marami sa kanila ang nakaka-relate now because we could only see him as the 'rebulto.'
"We don't know him personally but now we can have Pedro Calungsod as our idol na puwede nating tingalain."
OTSO.

Parang namamanghang saad ni Vince, "I can't really believe na ang unang pelikulang ginawa ko could be as successful as Otso.
"It created a lot of debate. There are some people who liked it very much pero may mga hindi rin sia nagustuhan.
"I guess, yun ang beauty ng film—a lot of people are now intrigued so this time it will have a run at Shangrila Cineplex this coming October 11 and know people will come to see Otso again."

Sabi niya, "Yeah, we have couple of invitations already...one is the Asian Film Festival.
"And I want to go and represent it."
Si Direk Elwood Perez ang nagdirek ng Otso na nagsilbing comeback vehicle nito after a long hiatus in doing films.
Kumusta naman ang naging karanasan niya with him at ang pagiging magkaibigan nila?
Pagmamalaki niya, "Oh, we're very okay.
"I truly believe he's a real artist... Me, as a budding artist...I just started with the movies, I always believe that he is my idol and I'm his fan.
"I grew watching the movies of Elwood and to be with him in a film is an amazing experience and I will forever be indebted to him for all the things he taught me.
"Right now, I'm writing a script for him and actually gagawin naming movie.
"Honestly, yung friendship namin ni Elwood is not only personal friendship, it's a professional friendship and this is something difficult to get nowadays.
"The relationship is very genuine—we criticize, we inspire each other and that's the beauty of it," pagtatapos ni Vince.
