The awards night of the 15th Cinemanila International Film Festival took place last Saturday night, December 21.
The event took place at the Skye Lounge, roofdeck of the W High Street building located at Bonifacio Global City.
Cinemanila head Tikoy Aguiluz handed out the awards to conclude the festival that took place from December 18-22, 2013 at SM Aura.
Here is the list of winners of Cinemanila 2013:
BEST DIRECTOR: Kleber Mendonça Filho for Neighboring Sound (Brazil) and Lav Diaz for Norte, Hangganan ng Kasaysayan (Philippines)
GRAND JURY: The Missing Picture (Cambodia)
LINO BROCKA AWARD GRAND PRIZE: The Great Beauty (Italy)
BEST DIRECTOR: Raya Martin for How to Disappear Completely
GRAND PRIZE: How to Disappear Completely (Raya Martin)
YOUNG CINEMA ISHMAEL BERNAL AWARD: Theodore Lozada for Tunga (Halved)
BEST SHORT FILM: Pantomina sa mga Anyong Ikinubli ng Alon by John Lazam
During the opening ceremony held at SM Aura last December 18, Korean director Kim Byeong-woo graced the screening of his film The Terror Live.
This year's Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Conrado “Dencar” Baltazar, a cinematographer who frequently worked with the late National Artist for Film Lino Brocka. Baltazar served as the director of photography in the iconic Brocka films Insiang (1976) and Jaguar (1979).
