Starting Over Again reached the P200 million mark last Sunday, February 16, according to Star Cinema.
The first movie project of Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga reached this milestone five days after it opened in Philippine cinemas last February 12.
Star Cinema’s AdProm manager Mico Del Rosario announced via his Twitter account: "Congratulations Inang Toni Piolo at sa lahat ng bumubuo ng #startingoveragain !! We have breached the P200M mark!!! Salamat po sa lahat ng sumusuporta sa ating pelikula!! Palabas pa rin sa halos 300 sinehan sa buong Pilipinas!"

It turns out that a website became a major source of inspiration for the romantic dramedy Starting Over Again.
Recalling the origin of the movie's concept, director Olivia Lamasan narrated in an interview aired on Take One, "I chanced upon a sequence treatment by Miguel Sevilla that I liked. Miguel's material was really about a couple about to break up.
"With the ages of Toni and Piolo, sabi ko parang mas bagay kung gumawa tayo ng film about exes.
"Paano ba natin gagawing iba ito from other stories about couples na nag-break?"
The answer came through the help of the Internet.
"Si Anj came up with this idea. Sabi niya, 'you know, there's this futureme.com. It's a site where you can write to yourself, to another person and send it in the future.
"I really, really found it interesting. So nagkaroon kami ng premise na, 'what if one day, you get an email from your ex...from a person whom you loved dearly in the past but you hurt? And now, you get an email from this person.'"
In the said interview, Piolo described his character by saying, "Marco, he started out as a teacher. He was a professor in a university where Toni was studying. Ginny, played by Toni, siya ang nangungulit sa akin. Long story short, naging kami and we were together for several years."
As for Toni, she admitted that working with Piolo on this project made her look at him in a different light.
"Nag-iba ang tingin ko sa kanya coz I've known him for a long time...since I entered the business--from starting out as his fan and when I transferred to ABS-CBN, I got to work with him sa ASAP. Pero iba yung leading man, iba yung feeling na leading man mo siya and iba ang feeling na you're doing intimate scenes together.
"Ngayon, naiintindihan ko kung bakit nain in love sa kanya ang mga leading ladies niya.
"There's a really different spark in his eyes when he looks at you. You can really feel na, 'ah, in love yata siya sa akin.'"
She says about her character Ginny Gonzales, "I have a History professor na si Piolo Pascual and in love na in love ako sa kanya. It was a good relationship until she decided to make a decision and leave Marco."
Iza Calzado is cast as Patricia "Patty" de Guia, the current girlfriend of Marco. "Isa akong mabait, malumanay, dignified na babae. I'm the exact opposite of Ginny."
Direk Olivia ends by leaving questions for people to ponder on: "What is your definition of starting over again? What is your definition of new beginnings? What is your definition of second chances?"
