Sandy Talag wins Best Actress Award in 2014 Jaipur International Film Festival

Sandy Talag was named Best Actress in the 6th edition of the Jaipur International Film Festival for the movie Lilet Never Happened.



Muli na namang nanalo ng Best Actress award ang former StarStruck Kids contestant na si Sandy Talag.

Nanalo siya sa 2014 Jaipur International Film Festival para sa pelikulang Lilet Never Happened kunsaan gumanap si Sandy bilang child prostitute.

Ang Lilet Never Happened ay Dutch film na produced ng bansang Netherlands at kinunan dito sa Pilipinas.

Last year ay unang nanalo ng international best actress award si Sandy sa Oaxaca International Film Festival in Mexico City.

Sunud-sunod din ang parangal na nakuha ng Lilet Never Happened noong nakaraang taon. Napanalunan nito ang Best Youth Film sa Copenhagen International Film Festival sa Denmark at Audience Award sa 16th Auburn Film Festival for Children and Young Adults in Sydney, Australia.

Ginanap ang JIIF 2014 sa India noong nakaraang February 1 to 5, 2014 sa Golcha Cinema and Chamber Bhawan in India.

More than 30 films mula sa iba’t ibang bansa ang na-screen sa 6th edition ng JIFF. Twenty-five awards naman ang pinamigay ng naturang film festival.

Ayon sa kanilang website, ni-launch ang JIPP noong January 2009. Nagaganap ito tuwing last week of January or first week ng February sa Jaipur, India.

“The purpose of this film festival is to promote new movie makers, exchange of knowledge, information, ideas & culture between India & other nations in context of their social and cultural ethos.

“JIFF also promotes friendship and co-operation among people of the world through the medium of films & documentaries.

“Though the film festivals have became a regular affair in most countries yet most of them cater only to selected audience as well as entertain the commercially successful film makers and related personalities.

“However, JIFF intends to organize a festival that connects the film fans & movie goers with the world, especially the serious filmmakers & their associates so as to bring about greater understanding of the art of filmmaking.”
