Another book will be turned into a movie by Star Cinema.
Enchong Dee and Erich Gonzales will star in the movie adaptation of the book Once A Princess written by Angel Bautista.
This project marks the reunion of Enchong and Erich for the big screen after being paired in the romantic comedy I Do (2010).
Their last project as loveteam partners was for the ABS-CBN remake of Maria la del Barrio (2011-2012).
Directed by Laurice Guillen, Once A Princess tells the story of a popular girl who plays around with the heart of their class geek.
In their school, Erin belongs to a clique of famous girls while Leonard is the nerdy boy who grows up to be a rich scientist.
Seven years later, the two cross paths again.
During the story conference of the movie, Enchong and Erich Gonzales talked about their roles in Once A Princess.
Enchong says about his character, "Leonard is a scientist. Matalino siya at outcast siya and naging mayaman siya."
Erich reveals, "Ang Once a Princess, story siya ng 17-year-old girl na mayaman, may buhay-prinsesa.
"Na-meet niya si Leonard na isang geek...hindi niya napigilan na ma in love siya and something tragic happened kaya naghiwalay sila. Hindi okay ang paghihiwalay nila.
"After 7 years, nagkita ulit sila and since hindi okay ang [past] nila, tina-try nila na mabuo kung ano man ang mayroon sila dati."
The actor is grateful to be given the chance to work again with Erich since he says there are a lot of fans who continue to support their tandem.
Why did it take so long before they were paired again in a project?
"Kailangan namin ng growth apart," Enchong points out.
"Buti na lang, binigay sa amin ng management yung chance to grow apart.
"Whatever we learned from our past projects, magagamit namin dito."
What does he think is the secret behind the success of their tandem?
"Yung friendship na talagang walang halo na showbiz.
"It's a friendship that really lasts. Whatever we've been through, away-bati, okay kami."
