Chynna Ortaleza cast as a lesbian inmate in Cinemalaya entry Hustisya

Nora Aunor gives acting advice for Chynna Ortaleza: "Everything should come out as organic."

Sobrang excited si Chynna Ortelaza to be part of Hustisya, ang bagong indie film ni Nora Aunor.

I auditioned for my role in Dementia. Tapos hindi pa ako agad naniwala when I was informed by GMA Artist Center na I passed the audition. I was in denial pa.

"I even called up Direk Perci [Intalan] para tanungin siya kung talagang kasali ako sa cast ng movie. I asked him kung totoo bang kasali ako sa movie,” kuwento ni Chynna. Four days siyang in denial na part siya ng Dementia at talaga naniwala lang daw siya nang magpunta na sila ng Batanes for the shoot.

Sinabi pa ni Chynna na interesado siya talaga siyang lumabas sa mga indie movies although she had done quite a number na karamihan ay dinirek ni Joel Lamangan.

“I want to do indie film projects for other directors. Tapos what is good is the chance to work with Ate Guy. Kaya nga yung first scene namin together sa Dementia, parang di ako makapaniwala. We were on a cliff sa Batanes, walang dialogue. Nagtitinginan lang kami. It was a long montage. It was dream sequence pero dating sa akin para talagang panaginip kasi I didn’t imagine na mangyayari na naroon sa harap ko si Ate Guy and I am acting with her,” kuwento ni Chynna tungkol sa initial acting experience niya with the Superstar.

“Siyempre 'pag nasa harap mo na si Ate Guy, you have to give your best. You try to be at your best, para hindi ka naman nakakahiya. Of course, aminado ako na nakaka nerbiyos at first kasi si Ate Guy pero what is good about her is that she makes you feel good. Susuportahan ka niya sa eksena ninyo. She did a scene na she was just observing me. Then she told me I did well. Coming from Ate Guy, nakaka-flatter 'yon,” sabi pa ni Chynna.

“Marami akong natutuhan kay Ate Guy when it comes to attacking a scene. I even asked her how does she prepare for a scene. Sabi niya hindi raw siya nagpi-prepare. Sabi niya everything should come out as organic. It’s very to her something like that from Ate Guy, knowing how good she is an actress.”

Nag-bonding daw sila ni Ate Guy when they were doing Dementia in Batanes kaya pakiramdam ni Chynna mas matinding bonding pa ang magaganap sa kanila ni Nora and the rest of the cast of Hustisya once they start work on this new Joel Lamangan film na sinulat ni Ricky Lee.

Hindi ito ang unang pagkakataon na lalabas siya sa isang Joel Lamangan film pero first time ni Chynna na gagawa ng isang movie na ang nagsulat ay si Ricky Lee. Sa Hustisya, she will play the role of a lesbian inmate na makikilala ni Nora sa kulungan.

“I am also so grateful to Direk Joel for getting me sa kanyang mga movies kasi during the time na medyo I was having a hard time with my career, si Direk Joel was kind enough to cast me in his projects. Kaya naman it feels good to work with Direk Joel agad,” sabi ng aktres na ang huling movie with Direk Joel ay ang Menor de Edad.
