Janella Salvador, the young actress who plays Nikki in the hit teleserye Be Careful With My Heart, admittedly has a crush on Teen King Daniel Padilla but she is quite reluctant to admit it because of bashers online.

When asked to confirm whether she has a crush on Daniel or not, Janella answered, “Hindi na... inaaway kasi ako.”

The ABS-CBN actress disclosed that she has been at the receiving end of angry tweets from ardent fans of Kathniel, the tandem of Daniel and Kathryn Bernardo.

Although Janella concedes that she would not turn down the chance to work with the heartthrob in the future.

A member of the press teasingly asked, “Bongga yun, di ba, kung si Daniel ang magiging partner mo?”

“Oo, bongga din yung pang ba-bash,” Janella quipped in return.

“Pero kikiligin ka?” she was further asked.

She answered with a smile, “Lahat naman yata ng babae kikiligin sa kanya.”

The 16-year-old actress added quickly: “Basta fan ako ng Kathniel.”

Janella—who recently signed a contract with Star Cinema—also signed a four-movie contract with Regal Films last Saturday, July 12. Present at the contract signing were Mother Lily and Roselle Monteverde.

The Kapamilya actress is set to make a movie under Regal Films titled Retreat House, written and directed by Jun Lana. She also has an upcoming teleserye with ABS-CBN but she is unable to provide details regarding the project.

When asked how she feels when being compared to Julia Barretto, Janella pointed out:

“Okay lang naman for me, pero in real life hindi naman kami magka-away or anything, we're close friends.

“I'm just doing my best, may comparison, may bashers pero hindi naman maiiwasan 'yon. I'm doing my best and my fans are supporting me, yun na 'yon.”

MENDING FAMILY TIES. Janella comes from a showbiz family. Her dad Juan Miguel Salvador is a singer and her mom, Jenine Desiderio is a theater actress who performed in Miss Saigon. Sadly, the two broke up in 2003.

VEERING AWAY FROM SWEET IMAGE. What kinds of roles are Janella willing to portray onscreen?

“Siyempre, as of now wala munang kissing, no sexy yet, yun lang,” she stressed.

When asked if she is willing to play kontrabida roles, she said yes without hesitaion.
