Angelica Panganiban was named Best Actress during the 10th edition of the Cinema One Originals film festival.
The ABS-CBN actress won for her portrayal of a heartbroken woman in the entry That Thing Called Tadhana.
Angelica was unable to attend the awards night held earlier tonight, November 16, since she is currently in the United States.
For the Best Actor category, it was a tie between Sandino Martin for Esprit de Corps and Matt Daclan for Soap Opera.
Maria Isabel Lopez was named Best Supporting Actress for Lorna while Andy Bais bagged the Best Supporting Actor trophy for Violator.
The apocalyptic horror movie Violator, directed by Dodo Dayao, was chosen as Best Film.
Kanakan Balintagos (formerly Auraeus Solito), was chosen as Best Director for his film Esprit de Corps, which tackles love and corruption in the military.
Special awards were also handed out last night during the awarding ceremony held at Dolphy Theater at the ABS-CBN compound. These included the Biogesic Ingat na damang dama Sineserye short film award that went to Ang Nanay Kong Noisy and Champion Bughaw Award for full-length film That Thing Called Tadhana (both directed by Antoinette Jadaone).
This year's winners were chosen by jury members Angeli Bayani, Erik Matti, Paolo Bertolin, Richard Bolisay, Benjamin Illos, and Tito Genova Valiente.
