Ai-Ai delas Alas, Sam Milby, and Jennylyn Mercado admitted that Coco Martin kept them on their toes throughout the shooting of their 2019 Metro Manila Film Fest entry 3Pol Trobol: Huli Ka Balbon.

Coco is not just the lead actor, but he's also the producer, writer, and director of the film.

It was Sam who revealed that Coco is the type of writer-director who makes on-the-spot changes to the movie script.

Eto sasabihin mo.' Sobrang iba sa script na mine-memorize ko.

"So medyo nataranta ako. 'Shoot! Anong sasabihin? Oh my gosh, I took so much time to memorize tapos completely different pagdating sa set.'"

Although he felt challenged, Sam was grateful that Coco was always ready to guide him on the set.

"What Direk Coco also said, 'Kung saan ka kumportable, kung kumportable ka sa English, i-English mo lang para hindi ka nahirapan sa lengguwahe. Para natural ka sa acting mo.'

"I just really appreciate it. He's so giving. He's so nice. He's amazing as a director, as a lead actor. I don't know how he does it."

Ai-Ai had a similar experience with Coco as writer-director of 3Pol Trobol.

She agreed by saying, "Tama yung sinabi ni Sam, e.

"Kasi, kapag may time na kapag sinabi niya ayaw niya yung linya, babaguhin niya on the spot.

"Kailangan kung anong minemorize mo, erase erase yun. I-memorize mo yung iibigay niyang ano, so dapat sharp ka.

'O, take 2 ka 'Te. Take 3 ka na 'Te, ha?' Dapat di ganun."

It served as a test for all the stars of the movie, Ai-Ai said, because those who are part of the scene have to know their cue and adjust to whatever instructions are given them.

Ai-Ai explained, "Kailangan memorize mo. Dapat alert ka. Alam mo kung saan ka pinapapunta, alam mo linya mo, alam mo saan bibitaw.

"Kasi marami kayo, e.

SAM ON COCO AS MULTITASKER

Sam added that he is in awe of how Coco barely has time to rest and still be able to multitask for both the movie and his ongoing prime-time series FPJ's Ang Probinsyano.

"This is the first time I've worked on a movie na yung lead actor, director din.

"So first eksena namin as Paloma siya, parang naglalandian kami.

"I was asking him kanina, 'How do you do all of these? You're a director for Ang Probinsyano, you're lead actor, and then you're doing all of these. How do you keep your sanity?'

"And you see his passion for his work and it shows."

jennylyn to coco: "pahinga rin pag may time"

As for Jen, she described Coco as a very thoughtful leading man and director.

"Napakamaalaga niyan. Hindi biro. 'Jen, okey ka lang?' Maya-maya 'yan iche-check niya kung okey kaming lahat. 'Okey kami Direk.

Saan kaya niya kinukuha energy niya? Grabe rin. Direk, pahinga rin pag may time."

As for Coco keeping them on their toes, Jennylyn also took it as a challenge to improve her craft.

CARMI says coco has really improved as a director

Carmi Martin, who's one of the supporting cast members of 3Pol Trobol, recalled how Coco has always been a "generous actor" since they first worked together in the horror flick Feng Shui 2 in 2014.

Carmi turned to Coco and asked, "Remember yung death scene ko?

Then Coco tapped Carmi to be part of Ang Panday in 2017.

Carmi continues: "And then sa Ang Panday, yun talagang nangangapa siya as a director kasi anlaking pelikula.

Kaya talagang congrats!"

Carmi said she used to be part of FPJ's Ang Probinsyano, but her role in the show ended early this year.

She was thrilled when told that Coco included her in the cast of 3Pol Trobol.

Talking about having the same screen surname as Coco, Carmi adds, "Hindi naman kita anak kasi parating tinatanong ng mga tao kung kamag-anak kita. Thank you! I love you!"

JOEY ON COCO'S GO-GETTER ATTITUDE

Joey Marquez, another cast member of 3Pol Trobol, was also impressed by the way Coco works really hard to achieve his status in showbiz.

Coco is known to be very hands on with the making of FPJ's Ang Probinsyano, which has been airing on ABS-CBN prime-time TV for four years now.

At the same time, he continues to juggle on-cam and behind-the-scenes work for his latest movie.

Joey pointed out, "Dun ako humanga sa kanya, despite the fact andaming opportunity na ganyan, hindi niya pinapakawalan.

"Dahil alam niya habang mainit, kagatin natin nang kagatin."

As for Coco being a strict director, Joey adds, "Isa pang hinahangaan ko, he makes the rule as a director, he also follows the rule as an actor."

BIANCA ON COCO

Bianca Manalo, for her part, praised how Coco gives career opportunities to actors working with him in FPJ's Ang Probinsyano.

She happens to be part of the series as well as the MMFF 2019 entry 3Pol Trobol.

"Totoo yung sinasabi na what you will give, you will get.
