Allen Dizon wins Best Actor at Hanoi International Film Festival; Magkakabaung named NETPAC Best Asian Film

Si Allen Dizon ang pinarangalan bilang Best Actor sa 3rd Hanoi International Film Festival—na tumakbo mula November 23-27—dahil sa pagganap niya sa Magkakabaung (The Coffin Maker).

Ginanap ang awards night ng HANIFF noong Huwebes ng gabi, November 27, sa Friendship Cultural Palace, Hanoi, Vietnam.

Ang best actor trophy na ipinagkaloob sa kanya sa HANIFF ang pangalawang international best actor award ni Allen para sa Magkakabaung.

Siya rin ang pinarangalan bilang pinakamahusay na aktor sa 9th Harlem International Film Festival sa New York noong September 14.

Sa kanyang acceptance speech, sinabi ni Allen na “a dream come true” ang tagumpay niya sa HANIFF.

Pinasalamatan ni Allen ang board of judges, ang mga producer ng Magkakabaung, at inialay niya ang napanalunan na award sa mga kababayan.

Hindi rin nakalimutan ni Allen na sabihin na, “Mabuhay ang Pelikulang Pilipino.”

Samantala, ang Magkakabaung naman ang tinanghal na Best Asian Film sa Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) category.

Ang naturang parangal ang kauna-unahan na international film festival award na natanggap ng Magkakabaung director na si Jason Paul Laxamana.

Ito ang nakasaad sa Best Asian Film plaque ng Magkakabaung:
