Janine Gutierrez calls her Rising Star Award win at the New York Asian Film Festival a "dream come true."

Janine Gutierrez bagged the Rising Star Award at the New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF) for her performance in the 2021 movie Dito At Doon.

TBA Studios, the producer of Dito At Doon, said in a tweet on Saturday, August 7, "Ibang klase talaga si Len, mapa-DITO man at DOON!

"We would like to congratulate our very own @janinegutierrez on winning the Rising Star Award at the New York Asian Film Festival 2021!

"Your @TBAStudiosPH family is very proud of you! #ProudlyTBA"

Janine retweeted the post and said the moment was a "dream come true" for her.

The official account of NYAFF also announced the good news on Twitter, and promoted the North American premiere of Dito At Doon (English title: Here And There) at SVA Theatre on August 21.

Janine reposted the tweet and wrote, "so honored!!!! thank you @NYAFF!! second year to have a film part of your festival and I was so sad that for the second time, we're still unable to attend - but now I'm just filled with gratitude [praying emoji] thank you for supporting Filipino films and creatives!"

Dito At Doon, which starred Janine and JC Santos, premiered on March 31, 2021 in the Philippines via streaming platforms.

It is also set to be available on Netflix on September 2.
