Cinemalaya entry Children's Show scores major wins in international film festivals

Prior to its international run, Children's Show also garnered four major awards in the 2014 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival: New Breed section, including the Best Supporting Actor plum won by Miggs Cuaderno (right).


Masayang-masaya ang former child actor at Little Big Star finalist na si Robert “Buboy” Villar dahil sa sunud-sunod na natatanggap na parangal ng kanyang pinagbidahan na indie film na Children’s Show.

Sa gitna ng kanyang promotion para sa pelikulang Kid Kulafu kunsaan gumaganap siya bilang batang Manny Pacquiao, nagpapasalamat naman siya sa tagumpay ng kanyang indie film sa iba’t ibang international film festivals kunsaan naimbitahan ito.

Kasama ni Buboy sa naturang indie film ang child actor na si Miggs Cuaderno.

Mula ito sa direksyon ni Derick Cabrido at tungkol ito sa exploitation ng mga bata na pinaglalaban sa underground wrestling matches.

AWARDS. Nagwagi ng tatlong major awards ang Children’s Show sa Fantastic Cinema Festival of the Film Society of Little Rock in Arkansas, U.S.A. noong nakaraang March 11.

Nakuha nito ang Special Jury Award for Feature Film, Grand Jury Award Best Screenplay for Feature Film (Ralston Jover) and Film Society of Little Rock Executive Director Award: Fantastic Cinema Emerging Director for Derick Cabrido.

Noong nakaraang March 7 naman ay napanalunan ng Children’s Show ang Special Jury Prize sa 35th Oporto International Film Festival or Fantasporto in Portugal.

Last March 28 naman ay naimbitahan din ito na mag-compete ang Children’s Show sa International Competition: Long Films section of the Fribourg International Film Festival in Switzerland.

Nanalo ng apat na major awards ang Children’s Show sa 2014 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival: New Breed category.

Kabilang rito ay ang Best Supporting Actor award para kay Miggs Cuaderno.
