Megastar Sharon Cuneta and versatile actor-turned-councilor Roderick Paulate lead the special awardees at the 6th Golden Screen TV Awards.
The awards night will take place this Sunday, April 26, at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati City.
Sharon will receive the Dolphy Lifetime Achievement Award: Ulirang Alagad ng Sining. The award was named after the revered comedy king who embodied the highest form of professionalism and artistry in his craft. The award recognizes Sharon’s contribution to the showbiz world as singer, actress, and performer in a career that has spawned close to four decades.
Sharon, who started her career at 12, became a successful singer and hitmaker. Even at an early age, she has already shown the making of a true star with her dedication, talent and passion for her craft. Aside from making hit songs, she also starred in blockbuster movies and was the singular star of the top-rating The Sharon Cuneta Show which reigned on TV for 11 years. Her exceptional talent and hard work catapulted her to the top. Her magnetism and pure heart endeared to the audience.
In her Facebook account, Sharon revealed that she will is in Thailand now but she will return to the Philippines to accept the award from the Entertainment Press Society (ENPRESS).
The Megastar posted: "Still in Thailand. I will go home just to accept my award from the Golden Screen on the 26th, then leave again with Kiko the next day to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary (!) in -- where else -- THAILAND again! Hahahaha! After THAT holiday, when I get home, I will immediately commit myself to my diet again. Dami ko pang gusto gawin before I finally retire. I have couple of projects coming up that I will seriously prepare for."
Roderick began his career as a child actor and has practically spent his formative years in showbiz. He was only 8 years old when he started his acting career and that early he already showed promise as an actor by collecting best child actor awards. The roles he did in movies and television much adored and admired. Even before comedy bars became a fad, Kuya Dick has made his mark as a remarkable comedian. Aside from starring in box-office hit movies, Kuya Dick also made his mark in TV shows like Tonight with Dick and Carmi, and in sitcoms like Oki Doki Doc, Abangan ang Susunod na Kabanata, among others.
Kuya Dick is admired by the new breed of aspiring comedians and is looked up to as an inspiration for his work ethic and professionalism by those who wish to enter showbiz via the comedy route. He is recipient of the Helen Vela Lifetime Achievement Award for Comedy.

The 6th Golden Screen Awards will be hosted by Ogie Alcasid, Janno Gibbs, Iza Calzado and John Lapus. Directed by Louie Ignacio, the event is presented jointly by the Entertainment Press Society and Pink Productions.
